Horrible the ribs was overcooked, and dry , the staff didn't have hair nets and had full beards with nothing covering their facial hair, there was no parking, and the parking lot was very sketchy. Will not be coming back

They are the most welcoming bunch of people! Family owned and generation carried this restaurant has held the Nations Capital down for decades! The most underrepresented business in DC! They are the first to bring real BBQ to the DMV!

I haven't been here since the football season ended last December; however, wanting to continue the tradition, I decided to get some ribs, (Jonny Boy's)

when I pulled up, one of the workers was outside with his buddy smoking weed, as I order my food, dude came in didn't wash his hands and proceeded to cut up my ribs, shaking my head I told them NOT!! to give me those old looking ribs, but when I got home, that's what I had, 2 slabs of OLD Ribs, $67.25 wasted

they tasted like chewy meat!!!, bone was broken on the end so you know they were old

don't know if it's under new management, I did notice they finally started using a POS machine, so you don't need to have cash on you when you go to the hood, I wish I would've used my credit card; I would have back charged all of the Mess!!

I have been a patron of this establishment since 1992. However, the recent price increases have made it difficult to justify returning. A rib sandwich now costs $12, and a pound of ribs is $17, which I find to be excessive.

Bought some ribs from here yesterday, and they were meatless, uncharted, raw, and unseasoned. The sauce was more than Red Hot Sauce mixed with what tasted to me like tomato sauce. It was horrible, and some place I highly recommend not wasting your money on. Never again, and we paid 20.00 for four meatless ribs.

Basic BBQ joint, but man do those wings hit!!!!! The ribs are perfect. I don't know what they do to get that weird, sweet-spice flavor in their sauce, but it's amazing and I can't imagine chicken wings without it. I have been coming here off and on for the last 25 years and will continue to do so as long as it stays in business. Anytime I'm in DC or PG county. I always roll through here.

I had Johnny Boys for the 1st time in 2021, ribs were falling off the bone and seasoned to perfection. Bought some ribs this year 2 times over a weekend and they were dried out and shriveled up. Went back to give them a second chance and was given ribs with nothing but fat on them. Sorry, 3 strikes you're out. It's a no for me. The greens are store brought and is out of the can. Yuk! Worse potatoe salad I had in my life, bland. Do better

Well... it's definitely Not the Johnny Boys I remember. The bbq dice still tastes pretty good but the ribs weren't really flavorful.. just salty. Visited on a Sunday wanting ribs and fries. I ordered the dinner which comes with one side. Fry station is down on Sundays.why?? Lol. So I tried the greens.. something I did not want but it was better price wise... until I paid and I see I was charged extra for greens. Why, because the fry station was down. Not my fault but I guess they make us pay for it. Wouldn't recommend
