During my recent visit at approximately 2:36 PM on 3/23/25, I ordered a bowl for takeout, which I understand typically includes a complimentary pita. After completing my purchase, I asked the cashier for the pita and was informed that they were out. At no point prior to ordering was I made aware of this.
I then politely requested an alternative, asking if I could receive a small portion of the wrap bread I observed being used for sandwiches. The cashier referred the matter to the manager, Carlos.
My interaction with Carlos was extremely disappointing. While he stated that the pita is complimentary and could not be substituted with naan or other bread due to cost, his tone and approach were dismissive, condescending, and unprofessional. Rather than acknowledging the inconvenience or attempting to offer a reasonable solution, he repeatedly insisted that my only option was a refund.
When I explained that the lack of pita should have been disclosed before I placed my order, he dismissed my concern and stated, “Jesus, lady, I do not have time,” to address the matter further. He then directed me to contact corporate and ended the interaction abruptly.
As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with courtesy and respect. Being dismissed in this manner—especially after a service issue on the restaurant’s part—is unacceptable. A simple acknowledgment, professional communication, or effort to resolve the issue would have significantly improved the experience.
Additionally, customers standing in line behind me witnessed Carlos’s behavior and expressed that they would not have ordered had they known pita was unavailable. They also commented that the situation should have been handled more professionally.

I've been enjoying the food at this location for a few years now, and they never disappoint. The food is always fresh, seasonal options on the menu, and great people on staff! If I ever get my signature bowl onto the menu, it will be: Arugula, rice, falafel, seasonal vegetables, tabouleh, olives, and cranberries with tzatziki dressing.
Mr Carlos is very personable and customer centric. He understands that good customer services results in return patronage. Plus this location’s food tastes better than the Mezeh in Clinton. Mr Carlos provides leadership by example and encourages his team to interact with customers, and he encourages his team to appreciate the value of speaking in English to better communicate with diverse customers.
