Yes, I came in on Juneteenth 2025 to purchase the spinach stew only to arrive home to eat it and it was very nasty. It had chunks of peanut butter in it. I’ve been preparing this dish for years and never heard of peanut butter being added to it. There are new owners now, but I think you should sample your food before selling it to the public. $30.00 wasted.

They are new owners. I've been coming to Taste Buds for many years so I was a little skeptical about eating the food. I MUST SAY, I had a great experience with LaLa! She let me sample the brown stewed/curry chicken, cassava leaf, stewed spinach and they all taste the same!! LaLa and the gentleman serving the food was very nice and pleasant!

This was my first time trying out this spot and while the price of the oxtail is fair, it is definitely not worth it.
There were only 3 customers in the restaurant when I arrived it took a while to get my food. There were two women in the back that fixed the sides and the lady in the front served the meat. It took forever for the side to actually be placed in my container, and I waited a long time after the sides were ready because the lady who dealt with the meat walked off. And she was nice, but knowing that I plate is being made why walk off?
The rice and peas was very wet and mushy and not very flavorful. The oxtail was full of fat and also lacking flavor. I paid for a lemonade and never received it but I guess thats partially my fault for not double checking. Long story short, I will not be back.

The food is good however, the customer service really spoiled my experience. The staff member taking orders was extremely rude towards two separate customers during my visit. Clearly, YOU were the common denominator! It's real simple...just be nice! You never know what people are going through. Sometimes they smile to keep from crying. Before stopping in today, I hadn't been to Taste Budds in a while. I don't remember ever having this experience before during previous visits at this establishment. I can promise you that I will NOT be returning! A tip to the young lady at the register...food tastes much better with kindness!

I am from the West Indies. This food is VERY bland! I paid $32.00! This was my first time eating from here and it is my last. I ordered oxtails, rice and beans, and cabbage with a side of macaroni and cheese. My stomach is killing me! There was A LOT of fat on my oxtails. Americans—don’t be fooled.
