Many vegan options, all gluten free and refined sugar free....a variety of daily specials and baked goods for breakfast and lunch. I appreciate Figg's movement towards becoming a Zero Waste establishment. Updated from previous review on 2022-03-13

Very expensive cookies they sell at farmer's market at Kent Island. Not particularly good.

I’m gluten free and I live in chestertown and it took me way too long to discover figgs but I’m so glad I did. I can’t say enough about how nice it is to get a sandwich or a quiche or a muffin, gluten free, fresh and delicious. Really wish they were open on Sundays.

Dog friendly with outside seating, umbrellas, shade. Excellent coffee, muffins and fritta. Great food made with local ingredients. While they have a limited menu it’s well worth the visit.

We stopped by Figg's after visiting the farmer's market. Unfortunately today they seemed to be short on staff and products as the advertised quiche, frittata and avocado toast were all unavailable. We ended up ordering the boiled eggs and toast, oatmeal and parfait. I could tell all the ingredients were of good quality. The grain free granola in the parfait was good and the oatmeal was fresh. The servers were working hard to fulfill all the orders for customers. I think there is room for improvement in the area of streamlining food preparation as the staff seemed overwhelmed and were cross crossing the kitchen to prepare orders. I was disappointed that the advertised specials were not available also.

Very limited menu. Some of the things on the menu were not available so we ordered frittata. Very dry and rubbery. On the other hand, the aside salad was delicious. I also wanted a bread but that was very limited. Ordered wheat focaccia. It was ok.

Many vegetarian options, all gluten free!

What a gem! Absolutely loved my grain bowl and mocha chip muffin (not pictured). The gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options are always appreciated along with allergen postings. I also appreciate the use of totally compostable containers and silverware. Will definitely be a repeat customer!

Great little breakfast/lunch place located in historic Chestertown, MD. A good variety of choices considering it was mostly gluten free, which a perfect for my wife. I had the quiche and the tomato soup. Both very good with lots of great flavor and belly warming on a chilly day.

I have to say I was a little underwhelmed as I thought that this place would have indoor seating of some type since they offer wine, cider, and beer so I was surprised to find that we had to sit outside when we visited. This is an adorable bakery really focused on making sure that they are upholding sustainable measures like wooden cutlery and compostable cups. There is a limited menu so if you are looking for sandwiches and many options, this is not the place for you. They do have quiche and frittatas that are premade and then heated up for you when you order. And remember everything is to go. After we ordered, we thought they would bring the food out to us but that was not how they run the shop - they come outside and call your name and then you go inside and pick up your items - everything is in eco friendly packaging but since we were sitting at their location, we would have preferred a plate since the frittata was in its own dish and it was difficult to eat it from their compostable box. If you're looking for a coffee and scone, this is the place to go. If you want anything else, this may not be your cup of tea.

This is a must place to stop at if you're checking out the very quaint and laid back Chestertown historic district. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Get the unsweetened crackers and the vegan chocolate chip cookie. You will be glad you did! Just 1.5 hour drive from DC. It's a scenic drive and you can tour some of the Eastern shore spots as you travel. Love this place.

Was visiting Chestertown and came across FIggs! The commitment to quality ingredients and health conscious menu items is amazing! Haven't found anything that's as good in the DC area. The gluten free flatbread on the avocado toast was excellent! Even your desserts with lightly alternative sweetener is wonderful! No more unhealthy gluten free items with loaded sugar and other heavy binders! Thank you for creating Figg's Ordinary- we'll be back!
