Was in Chestertown, MD over President's Day weekend. Was glad to see that there was an Irish pub in town. Saw the Smithwick's sign outside as we drove by and was excited to try this place, so my wife and I made plans to go there on a Saturday night for an early dinner. Arrived at 7 pm - no one there. Lights out. Door locked. On a Saturday night ! There was a telephone number on a piece of paper taped to the door. Curious - we dialed it. Person who answered the phone was not sure if the place was going to open or not that night. Told us to come back at 10:30 PM and see. Can you imagine that ? An Irish pub closed on a Saturday night ? According to their website, they are only open four nights (Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat) a week. But on a holiday weekend, they were closed. Very disappointing. Looked like a nice place.

O'Connors is a very comfortable place to have some drinks and get some good pub food.

If only it were open. The sign on the door says closed for the Summer. But that is now stale since it’s now Mid-October. They are done. It’s over.

It's a cool place to chill with you friends may be a little dingy but when you're in a town this small you can't be picky.

In town for work and randomly chose this place to eat and glad we did. Really comfortable atmosphere; felt right at home. The waitress/owner who served us was awesome. PLUS the food was wonderful! The cheese stick appetizers were amazing and the fish and chips were as well. Everything was perfectly fried. Flavors were great. If I'm ever back in the area I will definitely be eating here.

Atmosphere was good and food was good

Food was tasteless. Shepard's pie was hamburger cooked well done with tasteless carrots and some peas with mashed potatoes on top. No spices whatsoever. Service was fine.

Best Guinness in the United States. Frank, Me Ma and Frankie are amazing. Truly make you feel like you are at home.

An absolute must visit. Especially on a Wednesday! Or Wingsday as us locals call it. The most friendly service around and GREAT food.

I was visiting my girlfriend at Washington College and we went to O'Connors for a drink since its one of, what, 3 bars in town? Students like it there as they aren't particularly strict with identification for underage drinkers. I figured I'd love a Guinness so we stopped by one night. As I was waiting at the bar to get my tab around 11pm, an undertaking which took about 35 minutes, Frankie (owner's son) came up to my girlfriend and I and gave me the check. My girlfriend picked it up and began to read it as she got her credit card out to pay. Frankie took the check from her and said "Hey, b*tch, that's not for you..." I was very offended as was my girlfriend. I said, "Watch the way you speak to her" and he said "what the f*ck did you say to me?" I stated again to "watch the way you speak to my girlfriend" and he said "I'll say whatever the f*ck I want to whoever I want, now get the f*ck out." He then signaled to the bouncer to kick us out. The bouncer, Kenny, came over and apologized saying he "watched the whole thing and we did nothing wrong" but he said he wanted to keep his job so we should just leave. It's a real shame because the owner's are such nice people there and Frankie is such a j**** That's all it took for me to never go back again.
