I gave it five stars because if you want a Steak & Cheese Sub this is the place to go. I've had some pretty bad ones over the years at other places, trust me. I sat at the bar and enjoyed it. The bartender who is my server was very polite, congenial, and attentive. The other clientele seemed very relaxed and pleasant as well and seemed to be having a good time chatting with others and enjoying their meals and/or drinks. Blue Bird is always a necessary stop in our trips to Chestertown! It's practically a town landmark. You'll see everyone from a college student, to the regular lunch goer, to the retiree who has been a patron of the tavern for 30 years

No pretensions here - good food, reasonably priced and a kitchen open until 10 which is major as so many close their kitchens by 8:30. No water views or tablecloths but you'll leave satisfied. Our "go-to"
