I gave it five stars because if you want a Steak & Cheese Sub this is the place to go. I've had some pretty bad ones over the years at other places, trust me. I sat at the bar and enjoyed it. The bartender who is my server was very polite, congenial, and attentive. The other clientele seemed very relaxed and pleasant as well and seemed to be having a good time chatting with others and enjoying their meals and/or drinks. There are pool tables in and adjacent room that I assume are for all the guests, as well as regulars for tournaments and so forth. There was a jukebox on the wall that I assume gets the place more festive toward the evening. I was there on the afternoon. I looked over the menu and I really enjoyed what I was seeing. They have a lot of interesting choices. I will be going back! ?

Blue Bird is always a necessary stop in our trips to Chestertown! It's practically a town landmark. You'll see everyone from a college student, to the regular lunch goer, to the retiree who has been a patron of the tavern for 30 years

I hate to be the downer here but my wife and I ate here yesterday for lunch and I ordered the “special “ crab cake sandwich. Only thing I ate all day since my oatmeal at 6am. Fast forward 10 hours after lunch and I was violently vomiting for hours. Sorry… would not return. One would think in MD they’d use fresh crabs. Still feeling sick ?.
