Dok Khao Thai Eatery

First time visiting and plan to come back soon. CJ at the bar was awesome and makes delicious cocktails and was very friendly and welcoming. Nat was also very helpful and let my fiend and I know about Happy Hour specials so we know when to optimize our return visit!
Had the Street Noodles that were very tasty and filling. Definitely plan on returning soon. Thank you for your amazing hospitality 💛

We lived in Thailand for 7 years and the food here was just like what you’d get at an upscale restaurant in Thailand. Authentic and excellent. Great cocktails and great service as well.

I went during lunch with my aunt on a weekend. The scenery is gorgeous, wasn't too crowded, plenty of seating. The music was also pleasant. Multiple servers came over to check on us often, which was mostly appreciated. Their specialty house pad thai was the BEST from anywhere I've had in a while. I literally licked the plate. The curry puff (picture) appetizer was sooo crispy and the sauce concoction was to die for. The volcano thai tea dessert (picture) was delicious as well - not too sweet. I would make the drive again!

My friends brought me here last night for a birthday dinner, and it was fabulous!
We had a beautiful long table with banquette seating across from the bar. The decor was stunning and the staff could not have been more attentive. The food and cocktails were delicious, and delightfully presented. Can’t wait to return for another memorable evening!

We are so excited to have Dok Khao in Chevy Chase! Chef Pat and her staff are wonderful! The food is amazing and there is a dish for anyone. I love the noodles, rice & soup dishes! Our family and friends love it as well! ❤️

this location is completely different from the columbia location! i have been going to dok khao for years at the columbia location and have never had a bad experience and it was my first time dining at the chevy chase location for my sisters birthday and let’s just say i will never be going back to this location!! our server was so rude and was very hard to find since she never came around to check on us! after i placed my order i forgot to tell her to make our food spicy which i had to tell a different waiter to make sure it gets to the back on time. when our food came out it was not spicy at all and i know she never told the chef to make our food spicy because she brought us spicy sauces to put on top of our food because she knew it wasn’t spicy. i also needed a coke refill during my food and couldn’t find our waiter anywhere again so i had to ask a different waiter and it never came until we were all done with the food. horrible experience overall!!

Best mix of authentic Thai food and good atmosphere. Love the fried rice and drunken noodles in a pinch!!! The roti musssaman curry is to die for. I love Kay our server it’s always been consistent happy service

I came here for a birthday dinner and the food was good. I’m glad that they asked if anyone had any allergies because most restaurants don’t like to ask. Place looks very nice and very decorated.

The only good thing about this restaurants is the delicate decoration... The food taste so bland. We ordered the chicken satay and is soon dry like it was left in the pan for hours. The tomyum soup have very bland taste, the kitchen doesn't put any effort to make it, I can only taste so much fish sauce. As the restaurant was so empty, so the staff gathered in one place and became chatting very loud. The drink is way too sweet that it gave me headaches.
I was so excited to tried this place after good experience dinning at the Woodbridge location. But this location is so bad 😢 😫. Don't come here, the are much more Thai restaurants wich know how to cook better than here.

The environment was so beautiful and welcoming. I thought the staff was kind and friendly, and the wait was short. The food I got to try were the Pad Thai, Minced Spicy Chicken, and Panang Curry. My friends had the Beef noodle soup and Pad See Ew. They all thought it was delicious. Two people said the Pad Thai was the greatest Pad Thai they have ever had! I personally did not enjoy my meal as much as them due to the sweetness, but the underlying flavor was very good. I loved that this place had many options. I would come here again to give this place another shot but am disappointed my palate didn’t enjoy my first visit.

Really excellent food, beautiful atmosphere and great service. The best tasting Thai food in the area in my opinion. We went on a Sunday evening and there were lots of families but I would definitely come here with friends

We ordered takeout today for seven people, spending around $200. Among the dishes, we ordered a vegetable red curry, but they gave us chicken red curry instead. When we called to ask for a refund, the manager initially implied that we might be scamming them — which was insulting, considering our large order and past visits. Instead of simply issuing a $15–18 refund, they insisted on offering only store credit. We decided to let go of the money, but we will not be returning.

This isn’t the first disappointing experience either. During our last dine-in visit (for our son’s birthday, with nine guests), the service was equally poor — the waiter forgot about us, mixed up our drink orders, and the overall atmosphere felt rushed and unwelcoming. It’s loud, chaotic, and staff seem more interested in turning tables than providing a pleasant dining experience.
