A large group of us enjoyed our dinner here on a midweek early evening. Everyone enjoyed their food selection and the noise level was low enough that all at the table could hear each other speak. The dishes were tasty without being overly hot spicy. Sufficient serving staff made getting drinks and checks relatively quick, which was extraordinary when dining as part of a large group.

Had dinner here on a Sat night with no reservations. It was busy at 7:30! Ended up sitting at the bar. We were celebrating my partner finishing a half marathon and we were so glad we went here! The chive cakes, soft shell crab curry (spring menu), and Dok Khao pad thai were delicious! My spouse liked the beef salad as well. Food was served really quickly, a plus. Parking is validated, and I think the first 2 hours are free anyway. I will definitely come back! It is on Resy and I'd recommend they offer walk-in customers to be on a waitlist if the place is full to get even more business!

Tacky looking place.

I was chased outside the restaurant because I tipped below 20% and they attempted to force me to tip at least 20%

Scummy place with okay Thai food. They served steamed cauliflower and broccoli without seasoning next to their duck, like what? Would it kill you to just incorporate it into the meal?

Actually disgusting practice never come here

This is great restaurant for atmosphere and service. Love the cherry blossom themed decor. Fun place to eat Thai food and creative cocktails to remember.

I’ve had nothing but positive experiences here for brunch, dinner and ordering out. My favorites are the chili crab, massaman curry, sesame ginger beef, calamari and papaya salad.

I wasn’t too impressed with the volcano seafood. There’s barely any seafood and it’s a little watery and bland. The duck rolls were just okay.

Overall, the service and food are delicious.

We ordered take out on the 11 th , shrimp hot pot,
Siam chicken . The food was horrible only a few shrimps i the dish , vegetables were soggy , Siam chicken was old like hard and cold , vegetables were so few and cold . This id the last time im ever ordering from this restaurant and i think the fact that its location is close but hard to park is causing them to use old food and it shows .

Such a beautiful spot. The dishes were outstanding, rich with flavor, and the dessert was flawless. What truly made the experience special was the kindness and warmth of our servers.

Most Authentic Thai Cuisine in DMV, most delicious & flavorful Thai cuisine I’ve had in the USA. Great ambiance, cozy atmosphere plus super clean establishment, above & beyond service as always! Love this place!

First, I was wondering where to park and there is parking that the restaurant validates your ticket. Second, the servers and atmosphere are really nice. My only issue was spiciness of the food. I don’t remember what was the name of the dish but there was a hot pepper sign and the server asked me how I like it and I said spicy but the food was not spicy at all. So I recommend others to ask real spicy. Other than it was a nice experience.

As some have mentioned, prices are a bit higher than your average Thai restaurant, but this is not average Thai food. In fact, this is some of the most interesting and flavorful Thai food I've had outside of Thailand. The Dok Khao Pad Thai is Southern style with roast pork and served spicy. The duck roll appetizer was fantastic and not to be missed. I was excited to see many lamb dishes on the menu.

I am a very frequent customer of Dok Khao’s Columbia flagship location, whether dining in or ordering takeout, and I have to say that I generally prefer the flagship venue. During my recent visit to the Chevy Chase location, it lacked some of the luster I’ve come to expect in terms of food presentation, the playful cocktails, and the overall décor. I also noticed that the portion sizes felt a bit smaller than what I’m used to. The food itself was still very good, but I was expecting an experience more consistent with what I typically enjoy in Columbia.
