Nice place and fun. The ambience was what I expected. The food was pretty good but overpriced. I've had much better for less price. The bread was unremarkable as well as all the other food... The service was great.
First time visiting this establishment and from the time we entered everything was very pleasant. We ordered the cream of crab as an appetizer and it was one of the best I have ever had, I truly recommend it. We also tried the double crab cake with asparagus and potato. The food was well seasoned and tasted great, I would recommend this place. I know that we will be going back there again soon. Let me not forget the service was great as well, kudos to you.
Excellent food but we had service problems again. Our group of 5 has been dining at Pappas for years. The food is consistently excellent. The restaurant is clean and well maintained and the front desk staff is friendly. The problem is the server. For the second time in a row, we had a server named Ernest. Last time, we had him, our experience with him was awful. This experience was also bad. We asked for separate checks (as we have done for years) and he said it wasn't possible. We politely told him we didn't understand why it was an issue since we have always gotten separate checks over the years and the restaurant was not busy at the time of our visit. He finally relented. We asked for but had trouble getting rolls, a pepper grinder and coffee. After waiting for quite some time with no rolls, pepper grinder or coffee in sight, one of our party asked a member of the staff for assistance and she took care of the missing items. The final piece of this service adventure involved one of our party who used a gift card to pay for her meal and she handed Ernest a cash tip. Ernest came back to the table and said she owed more money. That made no sense. He showed her the receipt reflecting the gift card had an initial value and an ending balance (because there was more than enough money on the card to cover her meal). Ernest Insisted the member of our party owed more money for her meal even though the card showed a balance. Our party member politely explained to him that "remaining balance" meant she still had funds left on the card and she pointed out he was holding the cash tip she gave him. He continued to argue that she had not paid enough for her meal and he demanded she give him the Pappas gift card. Our party member declined to give him the card and asked to speak to a manager. A manager reviewed the receipt, concluded our party member had fully paid for her meal and a tip. Ernest apologized. He just isn't a good server.
Waited 1 hour after ordering for food to arrive. One guest received the wrong entre. Then that guest waited for the correct entry to arrive just as other guests were finished eating. (Another 45 minutes) Crab cakes were all undercooked. Not typical of this establishment as many other times dining there were acceptable. Wont be back.
Excellent seafood dishes; especially the crab imperial. I'm a fan of the hot bread and the cucumber starter. The service was great and the prices are reasonable for the food quality. I have enjoyed dining at Pappas for years. It is a nice restaurant and will remain my "go to place " for seafood.
Everyone in my party had an outstanding experience at Pappas. The food was incredible, especially and obviously the crab cakes. The service was unbelievable. Drinks were brought to the table quickly and before we had finished the drinks, and water glasses were always full. The atmosphere was relaxed but energetic. We thoroughly enjoyed this visit and will definitely be returning to the restaurant.
The waiter, Ryan, was excellent. The food was tasty and met our expectations. Thus far we have never been disappointed.
As always, bus and wait service was excellent. Food was well presented and prepared to perfection. A favorite of ours.
Outstanding crab cakes. Best ever. It was a great meal and we love going there whenever we are in the Baltimore area. It's a DONT MISS spot! Service was excellent.cheese curds were sumptuous. Caesar salad tasty.
We know where to go when we want good crab. My friend had her usual crab cake. I had the crab stuffed shrimp. It was too delicious for words. Unfortunately, the crab over scored the shrimp. May just try crab alone next time we come back.

Always a great meal. I dined with a colleague from Texas who was in town. I opted for the oyster platter with a cup of cream of crab soup this visit. Both were really good. I honestly can not remember ever having a bad meal at this location or the other on Taylor avenue. I love the consistency from visit-to-visit. Looking forward to taking advantage of a special lunch offer they shared with me on my next return visit.
Patrick was our server. He was outstanding and made our evening very enjoyable. The food was fantastic as always. One of our groups favorite places to meet for a delicious meal.
Generally things were very good. Most importantly the crab cakes were excellent. Just a couple of things that could have been better, but were not worth dealing with at the time. First, the complimentary marinated cucumbers were very bland/not up to usual standards. This happened once before a long time ago at the Taylor Ave location, so perhaps an inexperienced person made the batch? Also, the rolls were very stale. Everything else was excellent, and we left stuffed, so no big issue, just something worth noting and correcting.

Terrible customer service and terrible crabs! Don’t go, they will tell you that they are taking something off your check and then not do it! They make you pay when they screw up your meal! There are better places to spend your money!
