My husband and I went to NuVegan since its a highly rated vegan restaurant in DMV. I've lived in Georgia for a bit, so was excited to have vegan soul food.We ordered general tso, collard greens, chicken sandwich, cauliflower salad, and fries. Not one of these things was any good.When the server added rice to the box for general tso, I could literally hear the rice hit the box. The rice was very undercooked, and the curry was too sweet.The sandwich was served with a very low quality bread, and the filling was dry.The collard greens were okay.The fries and the salad again, had a pretty bad taste.We couldn't eat most of the food, and had to go to a different restaurant after wasting 40$ here.I don't understand how can a place with such good rating have such bad food.

This was my first time and NuVegan Cafe and it was a pleasant experience. Elijah was very sweet and professional and the food was amazing. I had the crab cakes, a chicken drummie, Mac and cheese and yams. There were a lot of photos of famous people that have supported the restaurant along the walls and that was really dope.

Surprising to give NuVegan such a low rating. I went in there to get there delicious steak and cheese sub; they didn't have there usual bun-- only had it on a wrap. It was good but disappointed about not having it on a bun. Mac n cheese was disappointing; it lacked flavor--almost like eating wet chalk powder. Their greens were just ok. I always frequented the one by HU; please utilize their recipe. I'm a fan but this was disappointing. Only positive was the service.Wheelchair accessibility: From parking lot you can easily get to restaurant.

Yes Lord. This food is the TRUTH . The BBQ tofu, potato salad and tuno-macaroni salad completed my meal this visit and oh my gosh - all flavors on point. So satisfying and delicious. Road-tripping w my son to Philadelphia this weekend and both of us were delighted to see a NuVegan location pop up on Happy Cow just as we were ready for a lunch break. We're familiar w this chain from RVA & DC locations, and very glad it's taking off in additional towns. Soul food made vegan, modern seating w NuVegan's signature lime green upholstery covering stools and booths, high ceilings w classy lamp fixtures, R&B playing sets the ambience of the interior dining space. NuVegan staff are consistently great. Immanuel, the young guy dishing up our food here today, was wonderful. We arrived a moment after opening so the fryers weren't up yet, and he said there was a slight wait on fried food. We understood and just went w what was ready. But 15 minutes later, he brought drummies to us. What a beautiful surprise. He literally made our day !! YES: Vegan YES: kid friendly

I can't explain how wonderful the customer service is. I was running late for a flight ( as always ??) last week and made an order to go. I didn't want to chance it and told the staff to give my order to someone else. Well they allow me to get something else that was already made. As I was running to my car, the owner came running behind me with my original order ?. Now if that's not customer service, I don't know what is. Thanks a million and the food is always awesome ??

The location was clean. The staff was helpful, but they ran out of cheese & sauce for my order. I am not a vegetarian, but I am open to new opportunities. This did put a little damper on my experience. I'll give it a second try in the future to see if that was just a busy day.

NuVegan never disappoints! I am here pretty frequently and the food and service are routinely 5 stars. The music is louder than expected for a restaurant and can be a lot when ordering and dining in with others/trying to talk over the music. But this certainly doesn't take away from the deliciousness that is NuVegan.

One of the best vegan restaurants!!! Their food is to die for, and they serve large portions. I'm glad I had leftovers the next day. The leftovers were just as good!
