I went out of my way to try this place this morning, and the service was absolutely terrible. When I walked in, the cashier had just finished an order. Ready to order, she told me she’d be right with me. She then took some time to complete a side task in front of me (one that clearly could have waited) and chat with a colleague who was scooping blended acai into a container off to the side. Annoying, but whatever.
I placed my order and sat down to wait for my bowl. Then, another customer came in after me with a larger order, which was taken and immediately made by another employee. I asked politely if anyone was working on my order, and the employee who had been prepping the entire time suddenly said she was working on it now. I did not understand why my order was just getting started after the customer after me had started to receive theirs.
Once my order was finally done, instead of handing me my order at the register where I was standing, she called it out and put it on the pickup counter for me to walk to get it. There were no other customers, and the one after me had received his in hand. To top it off, there was no apology, no acknowledgment, no have a nice day…nothing.
After mumbling something, the only thing I overheard was her colleague reassuring her that “it’s okay” after she said it was “too much going on.” Too much going on? Since when is scooping acai into a container too much going on?
Bad service is my pet peeve. UGH.
The acai bowl itself was good, though.

Playa Bowls is always a great spot to come to for a mid-day snack or after a long gym session. Great selection of bowls especially the Dragonberry Pitaya bowl. Highly recommend to anyone looking for nice place to grab some healthy smoothies/açaí bowls.

I love açaí bowls and I have been coming here for a while…but I won’t be anymore. I ordered an OG bowl for me and my daughter when we were half way through the bowl I realized we were eating pieces of plastic. There was definitely a big piece of plastic blended into the açaí. These are the pieces I dug out…and I assure you they were not blueberries pieces. What a shame..Very disappointing because I been coming here for many years and even have a rewards.

The even I visited Plays Bowl I had the pleasure of being hallowed by Rahban, Angelina, and Alyssa. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of their job. The service I received was top tier. I would recommend this Plata Bowl location to my friends and family!!!!
