Food was okay, flavors of the soup weren’t strong but thats okay because at least you could make your own sauce. Just like a normal hot pot place.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Urban Hot Pot in Columbia was truly awful. The servers had an incredibly bad attitude from the moment we walked in — unfriendly, impatient, and almost rude when we asked basic questions about the menu. It felt like they didn’t want to be there and definitely didn’t care about customer service.

Unfortunately, the food was just as disappointing. The ingredients didn’t seem fresh, the broth lacked flavor, and the sauces tasted off. For the price they charge, I expected much better quality. The entire experience felt rushed and unpleasant.

Overall, both the service and the food were terrible. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of other hot pot restaurants nearby that actually care about their customers and serve good food.

Not family-friendly at all. They clearly don’t welcome children. This was our first visit and absolutely our last. If you want a decent dining experience, do yourself a favor and skip this place—no one should have to pay to deal with servers who can’t even hide their displeasure.

I asked, “Can I have water for my son?”
Server: “No, we don’t have kid cups.”
Me: “Regular cups are fine.”
Server: “But he’ll spill.”
Me: “No, he won’t.”

And that was the tone for the rest of the meal. No introduction to the menu, no explanation of anything, barely any communication for the next hour. Yet they still enforce a minimum 18% tip.

If you dislike your job this much, maybe consider a different one. If you choose to work here, at least show the basic professionalism your role requires.

Be careful, make sure you check your receipt. I was recently there with my kids. My daughter is 9 and son is 15. They charge for my 9 years old like an adult. She barely eats. They knew, She is not older than 10. I totally forget to check my receipt.

One of our favorite buffet spots—we love going there often! Their unlimited desserts are amazing. We had dinner there yesterday to celebrate my son's birthday, and he even got a free meal. Thank you!

I came here for a dinner date and got the make your own seafood boil and had snow cluster crabs with other items, i will say that the flavor with the other items (corn,potatoes) really worked well together but the snow crabs were underwhelming they tasted a bit like bland fish. It didn’t have that crabby taste and i am not sure why. I haven’t eaten snow clusters in a while so didn’t know if that was normal. Other than that the people are friendly and it is a nice spot to go to.

It used to be great but I have no clue what happened. They either did not renew their liquor license or something but it’s not that good of a place to come with friends to drink and eat anymore. That plus they no longer have certain items like the coconut cake.

Ordering was effortless using the iPads at each table.

You choose your soup broth flavor, then customize your feast
by selecting all the fresh ingredients you want, from meats to vegetables.

There’s a full Sauce Station to craft your perfect dipping blend,
and an additional buffet offering even more bites to taste and explore.

The staff was warm and attentive,
and the cherry on top — a robot waiter rolled in with the birthday cake,
singing “Happy Birthday” in a moment that felt futuristic and fun.

We’ll absolutely be returning.

Went here for Mother's Day, bad idea we could have gone over to one of the other restaurants at the mall. We got the seafood boil and hotpot. The food here is way over priced. Plus they automatically take 20% commission regardless of the overall experience, food, service, which was bad. The waiter was kind but the food was bland and taste-less, the hot bar didn't have much to choose from either, that was very disappointing. This place was extremely way too expensive for what we ended up paying, not to take any food back. We were still hungry after we left, and highly upset 😡 Would not recommend this place at all. So many other restaurants in that area, and we chose this!!! This was our very first time going to this place, and we regret it. Please consider checking out other places in the area, there are really nice restaurants across the street at the mall to get your money's worth plus great tasting food. Never going back here.
