Beautiful new store. Won’t be shopping there much though because it smells bad. Other reviews have mentioned this too. If I were Giant, I’d be making it my number one priority to remedy this. It was previously a Shoppers… and it never smelled like it does now. Wet dog, stinky feet, whatever, but not what I want to smell when I’m grocery shopping.

I like the new Giant! It's a large store, that's very clean and well stocked. The food is always neatly placed, and each isle is arranged neatly in an opened and clear spot. You can always find and see what you're looking for. The lighting is bright enough to see and read the food labels. Fresh foods are always a plus when shopping at Giant Food Store.

It smells funny every time I come here…like dog, or sour gym clothes …but anyway nice store.

I don't know who has been writing a bunch of fake 5-star reviews, but this grocery store is awful. They just moved from their old location, which we usually avoided because of the prices, the poor quality of produce and (of course) the terrible smell. They just moved across the street into the old Shoppers location (boy do I miss Shoppers) and somehow managed to get worse. The new store does seem to have better produce, but they no longer carry many basic items (especially in generic brands) that you would normally expect to see. Also, the whole - brand new - store smells way way worse than the old one ever did. Anyone who lives in Crofton and has gone in there knows/nose what I am talking about. It doesn't even always have the same bad smell but rather a variety of bad smells that range from "cat litter box" to "week old dirty mop water" not to mention today's smell "the inside of a rented roller skate". Y'all know your store smells...please, please fix it or I won't be back (along with half the folks in town I have talked to.) To be clear: your store smells terrible.

This is a major complaint which requires remedial actionOn November 18, 2022, I shopped at your store to purchase groceries. I paid with a check on my account at First Community: check # 1040. My check was accepted and cleared through your register with no indication of a problem. I did not give the check any further thought since I was aware that my checking account at First Community had a balance in excess of $80,000 and the check # 1040 was for only $ 98.67.In first week of 2023, I received a collection notice from TRS Recovery Services that check # 1040 had not cleared due to insufficient funds. In the third week of January 2023, I went to Giant to speak to a manager and was told to speak to an assistant manager who listened to my complaint. The assistant manager told me she did not know how to take care of the problem I should come back and speak to the bookkeeper the next day. I returned the next day and spoke with the bookkeeper (Karen) who said I should contact our bank as it was my problem as my bank had not accepted the check. She told me I would need to resolve the problem. I tried to tell her there was more than enough money in the account and someone in your organization had made the mistake. She did not choose to believe me and indicated that I needed to pay the $98.67, in order to resolve the problem. I tried to tell your bookkeeper and assistant manager that the mistake was not our bank but SOMEONE in your organization must have made an error as our checking account more than enough to cover a $98 check visit to Giant, we received a notice dated January 09, 2023, (the notice was slow in arriving) telling me the check had been presented for payment (a second time) and this time it went through. Now, we only had to pay the $35.00 penalty for writing a bad check. The January 09 notice further stated that TRS Recovery Services had created an electronic funds transfer for payment of the penalty fee of $35.00 from our checking account. This action lacked any authorization from me or my husband. The check that came through our account indicated that the $35.00 was payable to TRS. So now< Giant $98.67 and TRS claimed the penalty fee of $35.00.I took the papers from TRS Recovery Services and spoke to First Community Bank multiple times at the end of January. Our bank manager discovered that the check was presented for payment FOR THE FIRST TIME on December 31, 2022. The money was transferred at that time. The First Community Bank manager printed a copy of my check for $98.65 which indicated that U.S. Bank had submitted the request for payment to the wrong bank account late November. Thus, the US Bank keyed in the wrong account initially. The incorrect account – belonging to another person - lacked enough money to pay the check. She did refund my $35.00 that had been taken out of our account illegally by your company you do business with.I request the following actions:(1) U.S. Bank should be notified of the problem caused by one of their careless employees and that they need to make some restitution as I spent multiple hours trying to figure out how this problem occurred.(2) Giant employees were not initially helpful in resolving this problem. I want a written apology.(3) Since we do not know where a U.S. Bank is located, your store should notify the U.S. Bank and TRS Recovery Services that the error was caused by their employee. I want to see the letter which is sent to U.S. bank notifying that bank of their error. We want to have this problem corrected as it might affect our credit rating.(4) Further, I want an explanation FROM THE U.S Bank of the justification for taking $35.00 from our bank account without our authorization. We never authorized TRS Recovery Services to withdraw any amount from our banking account.(5) Your store and collection agency (TRS Recovery Services) caused me an enormous stress about a check which was always valid.I remain a dissatisfied customer.

I have to say I am extremely disappointed in the staff here. Not to mention offended. As a person of color and a female, it makes me extremely uncomfortable to be followed around a store like a criminal. Especially when it is later at night and there aren't a lot of customers walking around. I was in the last aisle when I noticed the guy that collects the carts in the parking lot (middle aged, Hispanic) walking towards me. He passes me and then stops to "look at ice cream." He has no cart and no basket. He was obviously not shopping. I continue on. Not long after a man comes around the same corner (middle aged, Caucasian, very tall) and also passes me. No cart, no basket. I am assuming he was probably the store manager based on his attire. I decide I've had enough profiling for one night and head toward checkout. The same man rounds the corner coming from a different aisle and passes me again! It's possible this is just something they do throughout the night, but my intuition was telling me otherwise. 1) I've never seen staff do this any of the other times I have shopped there. 2) Neither man greeted me as a paying customer not under suspicion of thieving baking soda should be greeted by a store employee. They should have been spending more energy tending to the stench of day-old vomit permeating the entire front of the store. I will not be going back.

This is our grocery store! There are so many options in the vicinity (Wegmans, Aldi, Safeway...), but we keep coming back to Giant for the quality of the fresh items, the prices, the customer service, and the location. It hits the mark on all the major categories! Keep an eye on the circular or online for weekly sales, as you can save a huge bundle if you shop right. I can't imagine Crofton without our neighborhood Giant. ?

Even though this is a smaller store. They always seem to have what I need. However they are going to be moving to a much larger location in the very near future.

Right now Giant has Thanksgiving and Christmas items and foods in store. I began to stack up on cans of Candied Yams, lactose free eggnog, spices that may be hard to get later, and Apple Cider.Very organized, clean, and the shelves were full (early morning run for me)All seasonal items on the rack.

We were in Giants getting our second Booster shot. We saw Ray (I'm hoping I have the correct name, he was coming in and out of the loading area) diligently cleaning the side boards and the walls, every area he think needed to be cleaned. He didn't know we were observing him, I asked his name, bottom line we were very impressed, I don't think that was in his job description, nonetheless he enjoys his job and wants to keep his environment clean. Thank you Ray.

It’s a good place to buy food. My family enjoys go there and Miss Janet is the best, so kind and she is happy every time you talk with her❤️
