I recently visited Lures Bar and Grill with my husband, and I cannot say enough great things about the experience. Not only was the food absolutely amazing—each dish was flavorful and beautifully prepared—but the service went above and beyond. After our visit, I realized I had lost my driver’s license, and to my surprise, the restaurant manager found it and kindly mailed it back to me in Alexandria, Virginia. This level of thoughtfulness and customer care is rare, and it made the entire experience even more memorable. I highly recommend this restaurant for both the fantastic food and exceptional service!

Great service and great food! Cream of crab is the best. My guess is it’s the best in Maryland!

The waitress was good and place nice, the problem was my sandwich was very tuff . The smoked corn beef was cut thick and with the grain. This sandwich made it hard to chew .

This is not my first time here. I have had good meals in the past.

This place was delicious! We sat on their spacious patio, which was a really cool space. The little goldfish cracker garnishes on everything is delightful. We got the chorizo queso dip for an appetizer and it was so good, but the portion size was fairly small for the price. I got the filet mignon sliders for my entree and they were just delicious. I'll definitely be back here!

Food and service were absolutely excellent. My only concern was that we were given a table in the bar area (to the right of the entrance), and it was so loud we had to shout at one another throughout dinner just to be heard. Not the relaxing evening we were looking for.

What a great restaurant, and I am so glad I picked this one! I am not from this area and was driving through when I stopped to have lunch. WOW, what a greeting when you walk in the door. The hostess was so friendly, and I felt so comfortable. She took the time to review the menu with me since we were discussing how important good food is while dining out. I ordered the scallop & jumbo lump crab grilled salad. The scallops and lump crab meat were of high quality and so delectable. I ordered meals to go, and each dish was amazing. Thank you for such a great experience!

We went for brunch this morning. We ordered the braised short rib and old bae Benny. It was good enough food but just seemed to fall short of what I was hoping for. The short ribs seemed like flank steak strips (no rib in sight). The poached eggs with the hollandaise were solid instead of runny. The tomato jam fought with the other elements of the crab cake and hollandaise dish IMHO.
The food the past couple years seems to have changed to lean on cream and butter more heavily in the dishes instead of having some complexity of content and composition. I found the shrimp and grits to be this way in the past. I see less of a farm to table, creative and exciting vibe that used to be there 5 years ago and more reliance on fat to make up for a lack of these things. I found it downright odd that any braised short rib dish would be served swimming with a cream, cheese sauce. I looked on the Internet and sure enough a new chef came on in 2022 which accounts for what seems to have changed for me.
I think a lot of people would find this cooking not only yummy but also what they are actually looking for in a restaurant. The traditional heavy American cuisine ala Paula Deen is just not my cup of tea.
I miss the lighter but complex, exceptionally executed fare, with flavors from all over the world.

The servers were all very nice and the portion sizes were good. However, NOTHING we ordered had flavor. It lacked flavor and was beyond bland. I ordered the single lump crab cake dinner which was a nice size however NOTHING had flavor. The mashed potatoes tasted like air (or water logged russet potatoes). I tried adding salt, butter, pepper … nothing helped. My crab cake was also lacking flavor as was my broccoli. My son’s fish and chips was a good amount … but had NO flavor. He tried adding salt and had to dip it in the sauce to get ANY flavor. Even at 14 he said “fish HAS to have seasoning. It’s a bland meat”. It was a very expensive lesson with no upside. I do wish the food was tasty (or had ANY flavor) because it’s a convenient place for us and we will pay for good food.

I’m shocked to read reviews (which I relied upon) saying the food was flavorful. I spoke with a friend who went there and also had a lackluster and flavorless experience (she didn’t know we were going or she said she would have warned us).
