AJ’s Cookie Jar is a locally owned treat shop in the heart of Cumberland MD. They serve amazing macaroons and gluten free options, including a gluten chocolate chip cookie. The macaroons literally melt in your mouth and are close to having a religious experience. All of the macaroon flavors and different cookie creations are fantastic. The large chocolate chunk cookies are also really amazing. Recently, Ashley started making pumpkin pies. The pumpkin pie has a perfect balance of spices and pumpkin, with a deliciously flakey crust that is different from others. The crust melds and flows into the filling so well, almost reminding of a cookie. It is one of the best pumpkin pies ever, with subtle spices and every bite delicious. The cookies are creative and often like artwork. This is the best cookie place in all of the Mid-Atlantic region. Ashley is always super nice to kids, who are very excited to go to “the cookie place.”
