First time here not the last! Ordered there curry chick lunch special that came with drink UNDER 10$. It’s by far one best curry chicken i had meat fell off the bone 10 stars!
I recently tried this place, as I noticed that it appeared to be relatively new. I'm huge on supporting local businesses in my neighborhood. I had a taste Caribbean food so I decided to try it.Service was warm and friendly. No issues there.I wanted to try the oxtail dish, but it wasnt available. Instead, I ordered the curry chicken. I felt it could've been better, particularly with the seasoning. It also felt like it could've been simmered/cooked longer. I didn't get much curry flavor throughout.I'll try them again at some point with hopes of trying some of their other dishes.
I had lunch today, Friday, 9-2-22 at the JamRock Jamaican Restaraunt. I had the lunch special : Brown Stew Chicken Meal. I added side orders of plantains, festivals, j*** patties and a large Sorrel juice. I was in no rush; I had no particular problems on my mind. I was just Hungry. I positioned myself for my dine-in experience, by the far end corner of the high counter top table; with a bird's eye view of the shopping center. Within, minutes, my meal tray was ready; steamed from the freshly dished, chicken, red beans and rice; steamed cabbage, all covered in that sweet and nicely seasoned brown stew gravy. Bite, after, bite, I ate. Suddenly, I was mentally transported to that small island in the Caribbean Sea, mixed in with the larger Atlantic Ocean; the island "cool runnings" and "soon come" motto, coupled with that infamous "doctor breeze" trade wind blowed any unconscious worries I had. Suddenly! without realizing the time; I had completely ate all my meal; and only to discover the breeze I felt was from the "over head" fans. My lunch moment had come to an end. I had now to face the reality of a complex world, right here at Penn Station Mall. So, until, next time, I won't forget my experience today at "JamRock" . Bon Appetit!
The oxtail smelled and tasted very bad. It smelled like something was dead in it. The Oxtail dinner was dry very little Oxtail gravy. The whole dinner was so horrible I had to brush my teeth and wash my mouth out three times from the taste. And last but not least when I critiqued the cook. The Cook cuss me out. It’s a no for me. And this is coming from a professional chef.
I ordered the Ackee and Salt fish. It was excellent. They prepared it very well and there was no bones. I will definitely eat here again.
I had the J*** Red Snapper, i enjoyed it!!! Im only giving 3 stars because it was tooooo salty . I will definitely visit the establishment again and try other options.
Ok. First off this was a trial run for me. I ordered the j*** chicken platter. The presentation of the platter look so delicious. As I started to eat my food. The rice and pea plus cabbage was excellent. As I dug into the chicken it was tasty but tough. I’ll try back again soon to see if next time chicken will be tender falling off the bone
I ordered brown stew red snapper w/ rice & peas with cabbage as well as a beef patty. The fish was the only good thing. The rice and peas tasted awful as well as the cabbage. The beef patty didn’t taste authentic either. Also, I didn’t even receive utensils or napkins. I honestly wouldn’t eat here again. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend..
AMAZING RESTAURANT! I took a chance when I ordered a turkey here for thanksgiving and it was DELICIOUS very juicy and moist. Today I returned for some more food and this restaurant will definitely be a regular spot! Will recommend to family and friends. Thanks for the amazing service and good food.P.S don’t mind the plating for the food in the pictures I forgot to take a picture of the food before I dug in because it was just too good.
Definitely a great spot. Food taste really great, most stuff cook to order fresh. Always clean.Had some cake for breakfast lunch and it was great. Not too much spice or seasonings, just right.I would definitely recommend this spot for any events or catering needs.

My wife and I ordered the same. Curry chicken, with white rice, and cabbage. With a side of Mac & cheese. Service was great! However, the food wasn't as good unfortunately. First off, it had no seasoning. At least you couldn't taste any. Cabbage, and rice were ok. Chicken didn't seem to be cooked all the way through, though done. Mac & cheese tasted sour. Not sure if it was the cheese, or the milk that was used to make it. My wife says the coco bread was good. So sad to say. We won't be visiting them anymore. We tried giving them a chance cause they're close to home, but decided to stick with going across town to the one place we do enjoy.
Just happened to come across this place today and, as a trial run, ordered some things from their side menu. Everything ordered tasted really good and well seasoned. The beef/chicken patties were filled with actual meat in them and not primarily dough like most places these days. The best of them all were the bbq j*** wings, and I highly recommend them. It has spicy-sweet kick to it and the wings are well covered in the sauce. Definitely glad we stumbled into this and it’s a great addition to the Jamaican spots around here.
