They no longer have the hats or arcade machines. Its sad to see something go away from my childhood. My father came here since the 1950s, ive been coming since a baby in the early 90s.Its sad to see the changes.Steak n Cheese is still good.Pizza is good but something tastes a little different and its kinda over cooked, could be a different sauce or cheese, over all the food hasn’t changed completely.Im sure in time the new owners will get the hang of it like bryan did and perfect it as good as his.

We were so sad when we heard Pizza Oven was closing, but thrilled when we learned a new family took ownership! I'm thrilled to report that the pizza is still amazing. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza, a small meatball pizza, and a salad. The pizzas were so good but the salad was kind of odd. It was broccoli, carrots, peppers, onions, and a little bit of lettuce. I think they had run out of ingredients (we were asked if a "garden" salad was ok, and sure why not? But it was more of a mixture of veggies, sorry I didn't snap a pic). Stick with the pizza and you're golden! We cannot wait to return.

i grew up a few blocks away (back in the 70's and 80's and this place was a favorite to visit first on bikes, then in a car.the counter staff were always patient with our silliness and i was sad to learn they were closing down soon.

Small three topping pizza special with mushrooms, eggplant and sausage. With a drink under $9.00. One topping version at $5.99. Bigger than most small - enough for two. Fresh toppings. Decor looks like it hasn't changed in 50 years. A pizza dive bar. Pizza was great. Support the new owners.

Visited this place with my sister and cousin back in June. I was very exited to come here because I saw pictures of pizza oven on google and the fact that we’ve lived here for 5 years now I always pass the little shopping center coming home, it’s so close to home! First time we scrambled a little to get cash since it was cash only we talked to Brian he was very nice we had a lovely conversation!, the place is so decorated and such a cool warm environment my cousin even bought a barbie doll from them, he even had binders full of memories and we could sign our names in it! Thought about coming back all the time but life gets in the way of things:/ as soon as me and my family came back from a trip for the holidays the 29th I heard that y’all are closing!! I went to get pizza yesterday asap and it was very busy i waited a little while for my pizza as there was a couple difficulty’s and lots of people coming in but i didn’t mind, I enjoyed Admiring the place at least one last time for a bit and the pizza was fresh, hot and delicious. I could only wish Brian a happy birthday after ordering and when we left i said a happy new year back to I think it was his daughter helping out! Sad to see all the binders and slot machines gone but I wish him and his family and everyone at pizza oven the best!

This is a hidden gem for fresh made pizza. Very nice and excellent customer service. The doors will close Dec 31st. If you want to try out a pizza, hurry up and go! It's worth it!

I love the atmosphere, older gentleman was extremely nice and very welcoming!! The spaghetti with meatballs and garlic bread was cooked to perfection!! I will eat here again. Thank you for a taste of home cooking so far from my home in Texas.

After seeing the high rating i decided to give thus place a try. Cash only so i had to scramble around the area for cash first. Lets just say it was NOT worth the hassle. On a positive note, the toppings are generous and fresh.. but the pizza itself is low quality.. thin crust which i usually love tasted like nothing and pulled like freezer pizza. Cheese tasteless, sauce.. was there even sauce on it? I dont think ill be finishing this. Thank goodness i got the special at $9. Iced tea lemonade mix is tasty tho

The gentleman who owns the restaurant is a great host. He's super friendly and you can tell he enjoys what he's doing. We came following the great reviews and the interior decor. There are hats from all around the world they've been collecting since 1957. They also have a guest book you can sign if you are interested in that. Also keep in mind is cash only but they have an ATM machine right outside. I went for the 3 topping lunch special. Great deal for the amount of food you get. I heard from my friends that the Reuben was very tasty and the garden salad was very fresh. Worth the visit if you are in the area and want to have a unique experience that is hard to find anywhere else in the DMV.
