Basilwood Kitchen Reviews
First time here and i was impressed. I got the itallian sub to test the waters. Let me tell you, it's the best i've had in the DMV and to me the ulitmate test of freshness you can expect from a restaurant. The bread, homeade and delicious. The ingredients, fresh. Thanks for a great sammy-- i will certainly be back to try other menu items.
We got takeout yesterday and wanted to try a bit of everything. We got the Sunday Gravy pasta, pepperoni pizza, Italian sub, chopped salad, and a side of focaccia. The Italian sub was great. I have been to basilwood now about five times and every time, everything was amazing. The focaccia bread is so good. Basilwood Kitchen is a restaurant known for its fresh and homemade Italian dishes. Customers praise the pizza, especially the pepperoni pizza, which is described as having an excellent crust and fresh ingredients, close to authentic Neopolitan pizza. The pasta, including the homemade pasta and sauces available for takeout, is made from scratch and looks amazing, though some find the wait times lengthy. The Italian sub is highly recommended, featuring lots of meat, good bread, and perfect toppings, with the homemade chips served alongside being a favorite. The Sunday Gravy pasta is flavorful, with braised beef and delicious sauce, although some find the garlic overpowering due to undercooked noodles. The chopped salad is large and filled with meat and cheese, making it a satisfying option. The focaccia bread is consistently praised for its taste, often enjoyed with marinara for dipping. Overall, the portions are generous and the price point is considered very good. The staff is friendly, and outdoor tables are available for those bringing their pups. While there may be occasional delays, the quality of food and warm atmosphere make Basilwood Kitchen a popular spot for those seeking authentic Italian flavors.
