Unfortunately not the best experience. We assumed since it was a tavern there might be a bar for a pre dinner drink but there is no bar. The dinner itself was disappointing. Salad was ok but greens were a bit tired. The main meal was very disappointing. Pasta and meatballs. Meal arrived just warm and the meatball I was served was very under cooked. Wine with dinner was good. Atmosphere was very quiet.
This place is beautiful. We were there for dinner and requested drinks on the lawn. The manager came outside to talk to us and recommended a whiskey sour drink. I have no idea what it was called, but it was amazing! Apparently, the menu changes as the seasons go; I had escargo that was served in a butternut squash, and I dont think butter and garlic is going to work anymore! It was unique and delicious. Seems the best thing to do is walk in and relax, and let the amazing staff...
This is one of my favorite special occasion places to eat. Chef Dan not only prepares delicious and different meals but stops by to check on diners and share interesting stories about his past and the history of the Inn. For starters we had the Prime Tenderloin Carpaccio and Cider Braised Pork Belly. Two of us had the Delmonico Steak with crab cake and Potato & Root Vegetable Purée which was delicious.
