The extreme shakes were the biggest hit with our group and they are big. Food was good and the server friendly. We enjoyed our dinner.

The EC diner has good food and service. Sadly they have raised prices. Damn inflation is hitting us all. Still best chicken soup ever but $4.49 for a cup now

EC Diner is a certain kind of place and it does a great job at that but fine dining it's not. Or even, really, a Greek restaurant, though they offer Greek food on the menu. If that's what you want, seek it elsewhere. But it's a social hub centered around food.I suspect they've had to make choices about food quality to keep costs in check and prices accessible. This is understandable but these realities are evident on the plate. This place is popular and they clearly are a good consistent crowd pleaser. Since they don't take reservations, it seems like you can always sit down with a bit of patience.First, the atmosphere: bustling spot with a menu to suit all tastes. Great neutral territory for a mixed crowd to find what they like. Reasonable enough to not offend anybody's wallet. I see why this is a great choice for get-togethers.It's noisy, less so than a bar but it's difficult to hear across the table and the hearing aid crowd will struggle. Or have an excuse to avoid conversation. Take your pick. The menu is huge and I sampled only a small portion of it, specifically the Greek salad and the pork/chicken souvlaki platter. Oh, and one of the desserts. However, the quality issues I encountered were fundamental so I'm going to comment on that. The food was not well crafted and ingredients were at the low end of the range (see earlier comment on the price of ingredients). The anchovies on my salad were sad little fellows who likely died of natural causes. Rest in peace, chaps.Souvlaki was tough and dry, which is unnecessary with a marinated meat. Rice was meh. I don't fault them for the issues with the food and it doesn't keep the place from being packed! But it's helpful to manage expectations around the dining experience.
Don't get the Muffuletta Sandwich. This is a review specifically for the Muffuletta sandwich I bought last night. Otherwise I like this place and usually give it good reviews.I'm a Muffuletta fan, it's my favorite sandwich. But like any other special (named) sandwich, it must comply with basic recipe. The sandwich wasn't too bad if they had just called it a cold Italian panini, but the bread was cracker hard.To be a Muffuletta:- The most important thing is the thick olive spread. This sandwich has less than a tablespoon for the whole sandwich.- It's a hot (warm) sandwich usually with oil dripping off your fingers. This was cold. The meat wasn't steamed, the cheese wasn't slightly melty.- Normally the bread is a Sicilian-style sesame bun, this was served on a very thin cracker-like bread.I only took one small bite after looking at it suspiciously. I didn't ask for a refund and they offer one or even ask why I didn't eat it. I wasn't going to make a big deal about it, but usually they do ask when you don't eat it.

My oh My was I pleasantly surprised after my husband took us here. Our food was delicious I'm not to fond of the smell of the restaurant BUT BABAYY when your food get to the table it doesn't even matter. I'm already planning the next trip. I got the crab cake (2 crabcakes) , the pb and j pancakes, fried pickles, chicken tenders, and the jack fries. ALL DELICIOUS

The food is diner food, but good diner food. The menu is huge, those make you sometimes wonder how all of it can be good, but most of the time most of it is. Service, well it has its ups and downs but is more than acceptable. Overall it can be crowded and that says a lot for how people feel like coming here to eat.

The food was great. I got the grilled mushrooms wrap. As a vegan, that was actually pretty good and full of flavor. The diner was clean, and our server was extremely friendly. We had a nice family evening. Will be coming back for sure.

If you like diner food, this is the place to go. Unlike some diners I've been to, every member of the staff I saw or interacted with was smiling and friendly. The portion sizes were generous, the service was quick, and the whole place was pretty clean, especially for diner standards! It was a little pricey, but not overly. I will certainly come back.
