This is definitely a fast-casual kind of scenario, but the soup dumplings are sublime! Their dipping sauce is EXACTLY how I remember it being in Shanghai, and it makes a huge difference. You can watch people folding the dumplings. Their vegetable stir fry noodles are really good. My 2 and 5 year old girls love eating here so much they request it as their birthday meals.

The only thing that's good was the soup dumplings. Other dishes, not so good.

I’ve been to Dumpling District three times since moving to Ellicott City, and every time I am blown away! The soup dumplings are amazing and they have a variety of flavors to choose from. The scallion pancakes are light and crispy. When I order online it takes about 10 minutes to be ready. I’ve always been greeted with kindness by staff. Would definitely recommend for soup dumplings or classic Chinese cuisine!

Located in shopping center with Giant and Home Depot. Great menu selections and easy to place order. Dumplings made fresh to order. Very pleased with portion, appearance, and taste. Sometimes you can watch the dumplings being cut and rolled.

Skip the scallion pancakes - though given a dipping sauce the pancakes had no flavor. Stick with the dumplings and try different ones.

Can walk in to the boba tea place that is connected inside and sit in either place to eat.

Delicious food! My kids loved the rainbow dumplings. I had the spicy tendon and tripe, very tasty. You can see that the staff here work very hard and provide great service, especially the gentleman working the counter! Highly recommend and will definitely return!

The service was good, but the dumplings left me feeling gross all day.

I got the scallion pancakes, which were good for the first few bites, but as I kept eating it just felt more greasy, and the sauce was overly salty.

The soup dumplings seemed good, but they had these fat clumps that would spill out. I’m sure it was fine, but the texture and taste were so unappetizing. For the rest of the day, the flavor was stuck in my mouth and not in a good way.

The employees were very nice, it’s worth a try.

Also known as Luna something .. got me twice cause I thought it was a different restaurant and I’m not from the area. Not worth the hr drive to try soup dumplings. On the second visit I tried the pan seared dumplings. The bottoms were totally seared off. They had canned sodas but you had to wait for the boba tea place to open for any water.. and they open later. Bf tried some noodles he didn’t realize would be cracker crispy crunchy .. not a fan. Reminded us of sores ramen. Service was mediocre. If they weren’t so busy on the phones they might have heard him ask for regular pan noodles. Mentioned it after and they were like “ohh yea..” could have fixed it and maybe we’d have come back 🤷🏼‍♀️

A Hidden Gem for Dumpling Lovers – The Dumpling District

If you’re a dumpling enthusiast, The Dumpling District in Ellicott City, MD, is a fantastic find. The quality of their soup dumplings rivals those found in New York City—without the long drive if you’re local.

The restaurant has a cozy, family-owned feel and is conveniently connected to a Kung Fu Tea shop, making it easy to grab a bubble tea with your meal. My wife and I initially expected a full sit-down experience, but the small, casual setting with a takeout-friendly vibe turned out to be welcoming and comfortable for all guests.

We’ll definitely be returning, and if you love dumplings, I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Dumplings are decent. The Wantons were disappointing. The sauce was not very spicy.

This is my go to spot with my son (who is a dumpling addict) when the wife is otherwise occupied for dinner. Everything will a delicious. My son loves the crab soup dumplings. I could just eat a huge bowl of their fried rice.
