Overly loud for conversation and the food arrived so quickly, I felt rushed.

This was my first time and my last. The food was not that great. The pasta was overcooked and over sauced. The ravioli tasted frozen and the presentation was not appetizing as there was way to much sauce and no flavor.

Ordered a pizza for dine in. The food took forever and when it arrived it was cold. I told the waitress, and she said she could microwave it for me.
Food was awful besides that.

A Tale of Two Dinners
My family dines out every Friday evening. It’s our thing, our weekly reset after a long work week, just the six of us, rotating through our favorite spots across Maryland, Virginia, and DC. About six weeks ago, Facci Ristorante of Turf Valley earned a permanent spot on that rotation. The food was extraordinary, the service was warm, and we left genuinely happy. We talked about it for weeks.
So tonight, we came back. Just my wife, my son, and myself this time, as the other kids were away on travel. Same excitement. Same expectations. Completely different experience.
We started with the Calamari Fritti. Last time, it was a thing of beauty, light, tender, perfectly seasoned. Tonight, it arrived so dry and overcooked that it was practically inedible. We ate it anyway because, after a long Friday, we were all starving. At one point, a piece actually cut into my gum. That is not a minor complaint. That is a food safety concern.
My wife had been looking forward to the Salmone Alla Mugnaia all week. She had ordered the exact same dish six weeks ago and raved about it. Tonight, it bore almost no resemblance to that meal. It came out fried, not properly prepared as the dish calls for, and overcooked to the point where the texture was completely lost. The vegetable medley that accompanied it was equally disheartening. No asparagus. No roasted garlic. Nothing remotely close to what the menu described. Instead, what arrived looked and tasted like frozen mixed vegetables that had been reheated and forgotten about. She barely touched it.
To be fair, my son’s medium steak was actually quite good, cooked slightly past medium, but flavorful and well prepared. I ordered the Fettuccine Calabrese, which was just okay. Fine. Forgettable. For $75 a head at a place that clearly knows how to do better, “fine” isn’t good enough.
We spoke with our waiter, who was genuinely kind and apologetic, a true professional in a tough spot. But his smile and “I’m sorry” were where the response ended. No manager came to the table. No acknowledgment beyond a shrug dressed up in courtesy. Nothing.
I want to be crystal clear: we were not looking for a free meal. We were not angling for a discount. We spent a good amount on dinner tonight and left deeply disappointed. What we wanted, what any reasonable guest deserves, was for someone in a position of authority to care. To take five minutes and say, “You matter to us. Let’s make this right.” That didn’t happen.
My wife looked at me across the table and said, half laughing, half serious, “McDonald’s might have been the better call tonight.” And honestly? That stings, not because it’s wrong, but because this restaurant is genuinely capable of so much more.
I write honest reviews. Anyone who follows my Google history knows I give credit where it’s due and speak plainly when something falls short. Facci Ristorante of Turf Valley has real talent in that kitchen. We saw it six weeks ago with a full table of six. But talent without consistency is just potential, and potential without accountability is just disappointment waiting to happen.
To the general manager and ownership: please read this. Not as a complaint, but as feedback from a loyal customer who wanted to love you again tonight and couldn’t. Tighten up the kitchen on busy Friday nights. Empower your floor staff to escalate guest concerns to management. And most importantly, care about the people sitting in your dining room. They chose you over every other option tonight. That means something.
I genuinely hope you get this right. You have earned a great reputation. Don’t let one bad night chip away at it.
God bless. — Alex

Ordered a pepperoni pizza to go and I did not read the menu so that was on me. It had spinach on it which I had to take off. Honestly it was just awful. The smell was over powering had to wash my hands to get it off. Had to brush my teeth to get it out of my mouth Everyrone who had a slice agreed with me. Needless to say it was over priced.

Not great. Overpriced for underwhelming food
My family & I came to have dinner tonight, Our server & host were so attentive, nice! Unfortunately we’re very disappointed on the management, we ordered a small kids cheese pizza, from my knowledge working for italians restaurant the past 5 years a cheese pizza includes shredded cheese all around the pizza with sauce, we received a margarita pizza with no basil. We asked if we can change it to something different and the server said yes & she would speak to her manager about it to take it off the bill.
He came to the table to drop off a hot sauce at our table and took a look at us and walked away, not asking what happened with our food or anything, then our sweet server came back to our table to advise us he had taken the decision to not take off the pizza & charge us for it and the meal we ordered after the mistake on their end.
The consideration of him knowing this meal was for a child and not for an adult blows my mind since why couldn’t he communicate to us instead of sending someone over to speak for him.

I was celebrating Valentines night with my wife, we already ate dinner somewhere else and wanted a night cap and dessert 🍨. I ordered a smoked Old Fashioned and my wife had a slice of cake. Both were OK. Nothing special. To my SHOCK, the bill was $45 with the Old Fashioned priced at $26. I was so taken back I surveyed 3 friends during the week on what the going rate for an Old Fashioned was, they said $14. Needless to say, Facci is a FUGAZI!!!

I asked for my sausage to be substituted as chicken. They charged me $10 for an “extra side” of chicken. I don’t think the manager knows the difference between the words “substitute” and “extra”. It was the bald manager. After 6 years of eating here, unfortunately I won’t be returning due to nickel and diming from management.

Charged me for an extra side of chicken when I told them to substitute the sausage for chicken. I can’t eat sausage due to my religion. There is no extra charge for this. I didn’t get anything extra. The bald manager at Turf Valley is a complete scammer. He thought it was my first time there but in reality I’ve gotten this same dish many times. He lied directly to my face when I told him multiple times he was wrong. He told me “new policy”.

Ordered a dish that had chicken and sausage. I said no sausage, replace with more chicken. Manager charged me for an extra side of chicken, and still took off the sausage. He said I can’t substitute and had to pay extra. I’ve been coming here for years and I order the same thing, and substitute the sausage for chicken atleast 100 times, for NO CHARGE. I’m not getting anything extra, im substituting pork for more chicken. I’ve been to every location many many times, and because of the manager at Turf Valley I won’t be returning. I paid $15 extra for my meal for no reason. It wasn’t about the money, it was the fact he was blatantly lying to my face. I know the rules, I’ve been to facci probably over a hundred times for the same meal. Horrible new management and horrible new servers.

We were made to feel very unwanted because we did not want to sit outside in a back corner under a loud heater. The staff purposely went out of there way to make the experience unpleasant on valentines day. Furthermore no patron was happy with there attempts to be place in the area . The machine would turn on and was loud and seem very inappropriate. I will never go back after the way they acted.there was many rude decision made by the manager and 1 staff member because of our request to be seated elsewhere. Example the hostess intentionally came passively aggressive after being moved and state we have 90 min to eat. They never mentioned this to any table next to us , we were ask to not sit next to eachother while other tables adjusted there chairs like i did. The manager said when you reserve a table you must ask to be seated together as a couple? I ask if everyone except us requested it on there reservation on valentines day.

Amazing place. The pizza bar was so warm.
I’ve been to Facci a dozen times but last night it was as if I’d never been there, it was so exceptional. We went for our anniversary, with an attitude that we were “settling.” Instead we were dazzled. Most times we came for the pizza, with our kid. Last night we came sans kid and looked at the pasta and such and they delivered. The Gorgonzola pasta purses were delicate and creamy, perfectly Al dente. The scallops and shrimp with grilled spinach were cooked to perfection, with notes of sweetness. We always get the tiramisu for old times sake and we were blown away by the new presentation—it’s now made tableside. The ladyfingers retained some of their crisp, after drizzled with freshly made espresso. I’m ruined for all future tiramisu. Well played, Facci, well played.
