Just stopped in for a quick bite. Very interesting place. Food wasn’t fancy, but very deliciously home cooked. I’ll be coming back with family next time.

Lovely little spot! Both people working were so kind and all the food we got was amazing. We started with hush puppies that came with a delicious smoked tomato aioli, my husband tried their breakfast bowl that was a giant portion and so fresh, and I had the chicken avocado sandwich and fries which also was wonderful and fresh. We will definitely be back many times in the future and look forward to warm weather to eat on their patio space!

We look forward to breakfast here at the Fox and Barrel every year when we fly in from New Orleans to conduct the Arc of Howard County's "Chocolate Ball"!!!We love the feeling of a mom and pop facility and the laid back atmosphere. Of course, it gets crazy busy after church, so get there early!

My wife took me here for Birthday breakfast. It was great. John is a very friendly personable guy who just loves making good food. The Breakfast bowl was fantastic plentiful enough for leftovers. My wife's 2-1 breakfast was very good with a fantastic focaccia rosemary toast. We will be back!

Amazing food in a very nice and cozy place! Was amazed with my order of an 8 oz burger, and my coworkers chicken avocado sandwich looked amazing too! They even have a good selection of bakery cookies. Def will come back when i travel by here again.

The fox mascot caught my eye on the way to the nearby post office, so I stopped in on my way back. I ordered the Fox's Grilled Cheese Panini. I couldn't finish the house-made chips, but the sandwich was divine. There's a lot of artwork and books to admire while you wait for your food; I particularly liked a drawing of a fox vandalizing an older painting with their own paint.Cool little place. I will definitely consider going again.

Very good food. John is the owner chef who has made Fox & Barrel a signature statement. He is a skilled chef, uses quality ingredients, and a Marylander makes an effort to go local. In short, he is a foodie's chef ?‍? that has made a warm and welcoming spot. His corn and crab chowder is to die for. It has layers of flavor, is well balanced, just right use of seasoning (not salty at all). His hush puppies were perfect and his homemade aioli dipping sauce has a warm flavor that compliments the hush puppy.Fox & Barrel is an up and coming popular spot, so it can be busy however he does do take out.

Wow! We were looking for a breakfast place. Saw this on google. When I looked at the menu, thought it was typical farm/diner fare. Boy was I wrong. Chef John was wonderful, explaining the size of the meals and some of his specials. He made the sauce for my wife's salmon fresh, no re-warmed sauce for us. My sweet potato skillet was AMAZING. This was the start of a beautiful breakfast relationship for us.

Very cozy and quaint roadside cafe. The atmosphere is very laid back and country feeling while the food portions are quite large and tasty. Would highly recommend for those looking for a down home stop for breakfast or dinner. Will be back.

Amazing country roadside café in an unfortunately fast developing area. First clue that this was not going to be a greasy spoon type experience was the type of clientele already sitted. Then the menu mentions Avocado fries and other trendy fares. The food was a little slow coming out (like in a real restaurant) but was excellent. The "retired" mother/culinary graduate son team offers an unpretentious, family atmosphere with great food.Kid-friendliness: Everyone addressed the child(ren) as persons, talking about outfits, favorite colours, etc. Tin buckets of crayons help with the wait.
