Just the greatest lowkey Ethiopian spot I’ve ever been to the server may not speak good English but she’s very nice. Also the food comes pretty quick and it’s good

08/13: Sorry, I had to change the review after my daughter woke up with stomach pain and vomiting, and she has been sick since then. Last night, she only had a samosa and mango nectar from this restaurant for dinner, which I didn’t have( I ate something else), so maybe that’s why I’m fine while she’s sick. I’m not sure if the food she ate is the reason for her illness, and I’m also not sure if they cooked the samosa freshly.I may be wrong but just wanted to share my experience .
08/12 : Calm and cozy spot! Not crowded at all—likely because many do carry-out. Portions were generous. Loved the bread with sautéed tofu, bean curry and the rich Ethiopian coffee—didn’t realize it’s served black 😀 with no milk, but it was smooth and flavorful. My daughter raved about the perfectly spiced samosa and refreshing mango nectar. Service was a bit slow, maybe because there were fewer employees, but overall it was a lovely experience. A hidden gem!

You know the best food comes out of the little holes in the wall restaurants, right? Unpretentious, even hard to find if you follow Garmin GPS, but amazing food. This is it, the little gem of Ethiopian food off the beaten path in Ellicot City. Never packed in the restaurant, but always a pickup order going out the door. Beef, lamb, chicken wots (stews) plus vegetarian dishes are all available. Don't know what to order, just ask. Don't forget the doro wot for the fun of the hard boiled egg. Veggie sides give your mouth a break from the spicy dishes so you can dive back in. Take your Tums if this is new to you. If raw beef kitfo doesn't appeal, just ask them to cook it.
Even a little shop next door for you if you want to try your hand at Wots at home. Yes, you do want to try it. Warm stews simmering away on a cold, snowy day while you shovel snow, come in and grab some injera and go to town on warm and spicy stews. Oh yes. Don't forget to give your cardiologist a headache and make a batch of Shiro on the side because no one needs that much butter, but damn it's good when you do.
If you've never had Ethiopian food before, grab a friend and go here. Its quiet enough that you won't get lost in it all. Then hit the Ethiopian places around the Baltimore Symphony Meyerhoff building to advance your experience. Then go full on, hit up Silver Spring aka Little Ethiopia for the full immersion experience.

My hubby and I were in the mood for Ethiopian Food, and I heard that their bread is the most nutritious of all breads. Tigi's hit the spot. The food is fantastic, waiter very nice. The restaurant area could be a little less spartan. But who cares, it's the fresh food that counts! We will be back.

Amazing food, great price. Wonderful staff.
The first time I had their food it was perfect. Tender meat, great seasoning, great portions.
Idk what happened but this time the meat was really dry. The flavor was still there but it was just too hard for my toddler to chew.
The attached photo is some pieces of meat from the Zilzil tibs. Very tough, very dry.
I’ll give them another go another time but this was disappointing.

The kindest and most humble couple run this establishment, and your meal is going to weigh and taste like the price you paid for it!
If you are looking for a good Ethiopian restaurant, please pass this. We tried Sambusa, number 28 and veggie combination
The service is terrible, they don't even offer or ask for water.
Laidback place, definitely come here if you have some time on your hands, the food is extremely delicious albeit the service a little slow. I can't really put them at fault considering how hard the staff work. Enjoyed doro tibs & doro wot & there's plenty of vegan options as well
Dietary restrictions: People with legume allergies might be concerned about the lack of selection but there's a few to order that're edelicious & allergy-free
Parking: In front of the restaurant, theres like an ample amount of spaces because its in a tucked-away strip mall
