My experience at Brewers Landing in Essex was extremely disappointing and, unfortunately, one that ensures I will never return.

My meal was served burnt. When I brought it to the waitress’s attention, I was told it would be remade. After waiting approximately 20 minutes, I was then informed that the kitchen did not believe the food was burnt and had not started preparing a replacement. By that point, I had already spent a significant amount of time waiting for a resolution.

I then ordered a different menu item, which took another 45 minutes to arrive. To make matters worse, the waitress only brought one of the two plates that were supposed to be replaced. The second plate took an additional 45 minutes to arrive.

Throughout this entire process, no effort was made to properly resolve the situation. I requested to speak with a manager and was effectively denied the opportunity. No alternative solution, accommodation, or sincere attempt to address the issue was offered.

A restaurant can make mistakes, but customer service is what determines whether those mistakes can be recovered from. Waiting well over an hour for replacement food, being told my concerns were invalid, and being unable to speak with management demonstrates a serious lack of professionalism and respect for customers.

If you value your time, expect quality food, and want management that stands behind its service, I would strongly recommend dining elsewhere.

I want to preface by saying the food was amazinggg. I’m quite picky but out of the 4 things we picked off the menu, nothing disappointed. Chicken Caesar wrap with fries, a seafood quesadilla, wings, and crab dip. Two appetizers but everything came out at the same time unfortunately. The location is nice for a sunny day and they have a live band on Sundays, we just missed them since they stop playing at 5pm. The service however, was the worst I’ve ever experienced. You can seat yourselves and then a random server will come and greet you to. Seemed that the servers do not have a designated section like most restaurants do. Dallas came to greet us, ask what drinks we want. Told her a marg and my partner wanted a beer. Took her 15 minutes to bring it. By the time she brought it, we already knew what we wanted from the menu. It was not packed, lotsss of empty tables. Told me she couldn’t find the strawberry puree that the drink called for so she used a “discontinued” syrup. Offered to make me a new one if I didn’t like it. Seems nice of her until that was the very last time we saw her for another HOUR. NO I am NOT exaggerating. To no surprise the drink tasted disgusting, couldn’t even finish a sip. After waiting 45 minutes for our food, and a busser bringing it to us. Still no waitress in sight. I now have no drink for my meal and neither does my boyfriend because who needs 45 minutes to finish one beer bottle. We were almost finished eating when she decided to finally join us. I’m not saying she had to babysit us but damn come ask me if we want refills especially since you offered to remake it or ask if our food even came out right. Me and my partner go to restaurants on average twice a week and we have never been so neglected. It’s funny because we would see her talking to other tables and whatnot here and there but she couldn’t be bothered by us. Also the other tables around us had the kindest servers that were actually doing their job & I had to bother them so we could get containers to go. Would go back for the food but definitely asking for anyone but Dallas. Guess she doesn’t care of the service she gives or even showing face to us because of the automatic gratuity added to the bill. I’m not sure about anyone else, but I only get paid if I do my job. And if you get paid to do nothing please let me know so I can quit my job & join you.

So I pulled up around 11:30 pm 5/24 for the dj and drinks with my sister. When we got to the door to
Get it in they said they weren’t letting anyone in… BUT they said they would if we cashapped them 20$ each. I know I shouldn’t have but my sister drove all the way here from Frederick and I just wanted her to have fun. They are def scamming at the door of this place because brewers does not get the kinda crowd In there that favors $20 at the door smh. Then there were 4 fights in the little time we were there but security did throw them out quick. The bartenders had great service and cheap drinks. I have been to this place plenty of times for food during the day. Normally a classy place turned ratchet at night.

It was my first time there. They offer music Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. They are on the water so you can sit outside when the weather is nice. I was there on a Friday for lunch and the place was crowded with people shooting pool or shooting the breeze!
I got the seafood quesadilla, which was delicious (I took some home), and my friend got one of their Friday specials of a crab 🦀 cake with butterfly shrimp and a salad. My friend said her lunch was delicious! They also offer steamed crabs.

Brewers Landing is a laid-back waterfront bar and grill that’s perfect for casual hangouts with friends or family. It’s got a lively vibe with plenty of outdoor seating where you can enjoy views of the water, live music, and a relaxed atmosphere that doesn’t take itself too seriously — ideal for enjoying cold drinks and comfort food.

The menu is pretty diverse for a bar spot, with classic American fare like seafood (steamed mussels, crab soup), hearty appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, and daily specials. Portions tend to be generous, and many regulars rave about the flavor and value here.

Service is friendly and the vibe is upbeat, especially on evenings with live bands or DJs. It’s not fine dining — just a fun, casual place to relax, enjoy a meal, and soak up the waterfront setting.

My friend and I decided to try the food st brewers today. They serve breakfast until 1pm which is plus since most places stop at 11am. We both had breakfast platters with a mixed drink. My friend loved their french toast the most. The eggs and bacon/sausage was good as well. The home fries were crispy and seasoned well. Everything came out plentiful and delicious. The staff Ashely and Amy are very friendly and attentive. The bar area was pretty filled with peoppe and both the ladies didnt skip a beat attending to all of us. The bar was nicely decorated for St. Patrick's day. We will be back to try other delicious food.
