“The Crazy Tuna Bar & Grille to close: 'Essex is truly losing a gem' By Kendyl Kearly October 17, 2024 at 1:22 PM ET The Crazy Tuna Bar & Grille is set to close after Saturday, the Essex restaurant announced Thursday on social media. The waterfront restaurant is known for its beachy atmosphere, complete with sand beneath the picnic tables; seafood dishes; and live music that could be heard from boats docked nearby. The Crazy Tuna wrote that there isn’t “just one reason” for the decision to close and advocated the community for the hiring of staff who must now find other jobs. “Essex is truly losing a gem here,” said manager Ashley Schap, who’s worked at The Crazy Tuna for eight years. She said staff heard the news last week and that she’d been expecting to work there for at least six more years, through the end of the restaurant’s lease. “This is my livelihood,” Schap said.”

HIT AND RUN!!! BUS DRIVER HIT OUR MAILBOXES AND DESTROYED THEM! THE DRIVER DIDNT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THAT HE HIT THEM WE SAW ON THE CAMERA OWNER PROMISED TO PAY TO FIX AFTER WE HAD TO SHOW HIM THE CAMERA FOOTAGE
THIS WAS 5 MONTHS AGO !! JUNE 14th HE STILL HAS YET TO PAY ... WHAT KIND OF PERSON DOES THIS???

I cannot rave about this place enough! We had my dads surprise 60th here and it was amazing! The food was great, staff was so incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere rocked! Ashley, our event coordinator, was so responsive and nice and they even let us bring our own decorations in and desserts. They do not charge anything for the space (we had our own private room with a bar that led to the outside) and you only pay for the food you choose :) We had 2 servers for our party and they were both amazing and super sweet! Definitely would recommend this place to anyone having a party or just grabbing dinner! They did not disappoint!

Came here to watch the Bumpin Uglies, which, for starters, awesome place for a Concert Venue. We're able to park fairly close, but if not they have a few large golf carts running people down to the restaurant, Plenty of Outdoor seating, plenty of seating at the bar as well.
Food all sits around $16-18 range, seafood seems mostly market price, We got the Blackened rockfish tacos & Seared tuna tacos which were incredible, and they have awesome crushes! we ended up getting orange dreamsicle crushes which slapped
Highly recommended, absolutely coming back

I love this place! Drove an hour and a half for the Bumpin Uglies show and got some amazing food while we waited for them to come on! This spot by the water is beautiful. Amazing food and the lady bartender gave awesome service despite her being swamped. Will definitely be coming back here some time!

-You like risking your life leaving the parking lot
-You want a bartender with 3 DUIs
-You condone drinking and driving
-You want to help a man work for his lawyer fees after drinking and driving and sending a man to shock trauma
