The food is satisfactory. The owner is very pleasant. However the staff specifically the male staff need to be replaced. I’ve been in this establishment several times over the past few months and seated myself and normally wait 20 minutes or more for a server. Today was the worst experience. The male server looked at me sitting and waiting for approximately 20 minutes and never approached my table. This is a hurry up and wait environment and the customer owes them attitude.

I work at DoorDash. They told me it would take 10 minutes. I waited 30 minutes. Terrible service. Disgusting. I will never order from this location again.

I was in the area dropped in for something to go. There was definitely no sunshine in there🤦♀️ the young lady taking orders, smh as she scratched her head with her long claw was rude and act like she didn’t want to be there. She was rudely talking to her coworkers also. She took my order, I ordered one item, it took 30 minutes. Not sure why because there was only two tables seated, anyway will never go back. Change the name to dark cloud cause I left feeling depressed.😞😞

Extremely long wait and inconsistent food quality and portions. Expect to wait at least an hour for your food. They need to cut off online ordering if they are too busy inside.

Love the lemonade and the food is pretty good. When they have it. Call before you drive there. They are REGULARLY out of half-smokes, steak (how when steak is in the name?), and lemonade. And that really grinds my gears.
When I tell you this is the Sunday breakfast you need!!! Come support this black owned business!! ASAP!! Everything is soooooo good!!!! Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself!!!

Love Steak in a Sack. I've been going here since high school, when they were located in Marlow Heights. True mom ans pop breakfast spot. Food is delicious and the prices are good.

When I tell you I love this place, I LOVE THIS PLACE!! My goodness! First of all the PANCAKES are sooooo good!!! I get pancakes, eggs scrambled with cheese, bacon and grits. But you have to also try the salmon cakes! I always take that to go! ? The atmosphere reminds you of an Ol’ down home country kitchen. That’s what I love about the atmosphere it’s so vintage! You ever wake up on a Saturday morning and you can smell your grandmother making breakfast? That feel you get in your stomach? That race to get down the steps and grab the first seat at the table? The smell of those down home pancake? The buttery taste with the crisp around the edges? If you remember those feelings then that’s the best way to describe Sunshyne’s state in the sak! It’s also a great place where people can just come have coffee and read the newspaper. I looove this place! I live 25 minutes from here and I will ride pass every dennys, IHOP or any other break spot just to come here! It’s definitely a Hidden Jewel in the DMV and I’ll recommend anybody to come and visit!
