the drinks were great & the complimentary chips and salsa were good. the tacos were awful — they were terrible; the furthest from authentic as humanly possible. we are not picky people at all, give us a mcdonalds dollar menu burger and we’re happy - but we couldn’t finish our tacos here. ran up a 100 dollar tab with 2 drinks, 2 meals & a kids meal. won’t do that again!

Editing my review after a year...
I went there the other night, before I went I was telling a friend how much I love this place and they told me they had the worse meal every there.
Well they were not wrong.
Their menu changed. They used to serve you tacos in 2 corn tortillas, now it's flour. The bartender said I have to request corn. They should at least put it on the menu.
They got rid of some of the tacos and the quality seems to have gone down.

Unique taco options. Had Sweet Potato curry taco and brisket taco with special sauce. Both were very yummy! We also had their Fire and Ice special rice bowl with Tinga which was also good. Complimentary chips and salsa included. Attentive staff, pleasant atmosphere.

Market streets best hands down!

This place is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy great vibes. The atmosphere is always welcoming, whether you’re stopping by for a quick drink or staying for the night. The staff is hilarious, always cracking jokes, but they keep it professional and make sure you’re taken care of. Unlike most other bars downtown, you never have to wait long for your drinks—they’re fast and efficient without ever losing their charm.

The carnitas taco was so so so good! I ordered 2 extra to take home for later! The street corn was a little underwhelming, but tasty. The bartender was friendly and efficient. I'd definitely eat here again and recommend to my friends

Drinks were great, but my goodness does the salsa need some work.

We love Agave but unfortunately will be going a lot less now that one of our favorite items has been removed from the menu. The street corn was the entire reason we first came to this restaurant when we first moved to Frederick and it was enough to keep us coming back. Sadly they’ve moved to a street corn salad now instead of the corn on the cob and it’s just not good at all. Tacos are still worth a visit but it was my street corn cravings were what usually got us in the door so I doubt we’ll be there as often going forward.

The karaoke night is loud and late night drinks served in small plastic cups. I’ve been in the daytime and the experience was much better.

I had a lot of questions about the menu and she answered them with such care and intelligence she was proactive and figuring out what the best meal for me would be. I ordered the Coconut Margarita and it was the best margarita I've ever had. Also, the tacos are HUGE and bursting with flavor. Our group had some vegetarian and dairy free people, and the chef was easily able to accommodate by putting the crema and cheese on the side. Super cute inside, too. I wish I didn't live over an hour away, since I'd love to come here as often as I can.

A disappointment.1. Food was inconsistent, the burrito was just OK, some of the tacos were good, others bland.2. We had a coupon we got 2-3 weeks ago $5 off / $20 food purchase but we were told that it doesn't apply, it has to be a $20 food item not for the entire bill. I'll upload the coupon for you to decide.3. I didn't know until a few minutes ago that they charge a 3% credit card fee. I don't mind paying that but would be nice to know before paying. I'll upload the receipt.4. Beer was supposed to be 1/2 off for lunch, they still charged me full price.Definitely not going back until something changes, and from what I can tell already, the place won't last too long, specially with all the really good options just steps from it. Hope they realize a change is needed before they go belly up.
