Their food truck at Utica Park today. I understand the busy line, the other food truck didn't show up, but I got a chunk of cartilage in my first bite, a chunk of flat bone big as a quarter in one bite, and a little piece of bone in another bite. Not sure I trust the rest of it. They need to be careful. YOU need to be careful not to break a tooth.
Too busy for customer service today. I'm too soft to assert to get my money back or a new sandwich, although I did tell one of the running servers to tell them inside the truck that they need to be careful. Don't know if the message was relayed.

It’s so difficult to find tasty vegan Jamaican food in MD. But Alpha Jerk has amazing curry chickpea and stewed lentil entrees. I got both and it came with cabbage, rice and peas, and plantain. The flavors were absolutely amazing! A must try if you’re looking for vegan Jamaican comfort food.

Had the experience of a lifetime here at the Alpha Jerk Center!! Had the BEST curry chicken and jerky chicken that I've had in over 20 years!! Even my children loved both dishes and they're picky sometimes. I will definitely be back multiple times to try all of the different dishes!!

I am a Jamaican who is new to the Frederick County area. I have searched unsuccessfully for authentic Jamaican food since I moved here. The three restaurants that I found have been disappointing, but I became excited when I heard about a Jamaican food truck. I love supporting “the little guy” and tracked down Alpha Jerk immediately. I ordered food for all of my family members: Oxtail, Jerk wings, a fish sandwich, and ackee and salt fish- THE national dish. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement! My 86 year-old Jamaican mother who never throws anything out literally spit the ackee out after a couple of bites. The curse words that left her mouth after would make a pirate blush! Ackee is poisonous if not prepared well, and this preparation was not only ill-prepared, it was NOT prepared at all. At least try to cook it!!! The oxtail was stringy and tasteless. If they had at-least used generic oxtail seasoning it may have been edible. The cashier assured us that the jerk wings were spicy. They were neither jerk nor spicy! Just blackened wings. Usually non-Jamaican restaurants are from other islands that attempt to sell their own food using the easily recognizable Jamaican moniker to sell their goods. This was definitely not from one of my island cousins!!! I’m sorry, but this is the worst food I’ve ever had and wish I could rate it in the negative! I won’t even waste the gas to go back and get my $84. I’ll let my ancestors take care of this travesty!!!

Please don’t believe that this is Jamaican food.

Sweet Mother of Fox Mulder I am SO excited to have stumbled across this place! After my favorite area place closed, I was missing home-cooked Jamaican food. I got the chicken patty (YUM) and the jerk wings (pictured) Both SO TASTY with a nice little kick. I also got the hibiscus ginger drink, and boy. Was it gingery! Yum! They also have vegetarian options, I can’t wait to go back and try the jerk chickpeas and veggie patty.

Absolutely delicious! The escovitch red snapper was made and seasoned perfectly, the rice and peas was the best we’ve had from any Jamaican place. The salmon was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The plantains weren’t burned like SO many other places. The jerk chicken was juicy and delicious. Even the cabbage was delicious! ? HIGHLY recommend!

Delicious! I love Caribbean curries. Reminds me of my childhood. Rice and peas is my favorite rice dish. The jerk chicken is so good. Not insanely hot. The curry is just as good, to me, better. Nice variety of drinks. I will definitely find them again. Travels well too ?
