Anchor Bar Frederick is a popular destination known for its delicious wings. The medium-flavored flats are extra crispy and satisfying, especially when ordered extra wet. The friendly and attentive staff provide prompt service in a clean, presentable environment. While the pizza may not be a standout, the wings are a top choice. The restaurant offers a nice selection of beer and drinks, making it a great spot to watch a football game or any major sports event on the big TVs. Families can enjoy a good kids' meal, and the outside patio provides a pleasant place to sit. Recent renovations have given the restaurant a cozy, bar-like atmosphere that may be darker for some, but perfect for a casual hangout. The BBQ bacon burger now comes on a soft, butter-glazed bun, which is a big improvement from the previous Kaiser rolls. The wings remain a highlight, although the heat levels may sometimes not match the advertised spiciness. The crab dip is a standout menu item, despite its higher price. Some customers note that the food is delicious and plentiful, and service is always great. The location is recommended for family and friends looking for a fun hangout spot, especially for watching sports or enjoying wings. Improvements such as brighter lighting and a more accurate heat scale for the sauces could enhance the experience further.
