Service and atmosphere were excellent, food was just ok. My fries were crying out for some salt (and there was no salt on the table) and the mojito was...fine. I didn't try the wings; I'll have to come back another time to see if that's where all the flavor was hiding. But the servers were lovely and took excellent care of us, and the space itself is a great atmosphere. Overall it was a lovely experience, I just wish the food had wowed me a little more.
Great place, awesome services
Ordered crispy wings, got “not” crispy wings. Then waited 30 minutes for another round of “not” crispy wings. Sad to say, the Anchor Bar relationship has ended.
This is only the second time going here and I will not be going back. I attempted to order the special of a half rake of ribs and 5 wings.
The waitress did not put in the entire order. Then once it was put in and came to my table, the buffalo wing sauce was on my ribs not barbecue sauce. My wings didn’t come until I asked for them. To which I was told the special was only for ribs not ribs and wings which was on the menu. Finally, when my check was brought to me the cost was wrong and the waitress admitted to knowing it was wrong and didn’t attempt to fix it until after I brought it up.
Altogether, I didn’t get my correct order, the waitress admitted the staff not only doesn’t know the menu, lies about not knowing the menu, then when they knowingly make a mistake they don’t even attempt to fix it until they are addressed about it. For a restaurant to claim the best wings and service in town it certainly doesn’t appear that way.
The food was great and our server Bellsa was amazing!
I had my surprise birthday party there last night. Food was great. The waitress was great. I can't remember her name but overall, everything was great. I definitely will be back there again. I just remember she was tall had tattooed on the upper shoulder and her birthday. Is in april too
Initially I was not going to leave a bad review. Five members of my family went there on Easter Sunday. Our server was sweet as could be but I think she was stoned because she couldn't remember things we were asking for first off. We ordered a couple appetizers and they were yummy. Apparently they didn't have soda guns available and we were told we could not purchase a canned soda that those were only for the bar. My dad who's a Vietnam veteran wanted a Diet Coke and was told no. A little while later I took the server aside and said look this man served your country the least you could do is give him a Diet Coke so she checked with a manager and brought him one. Are food came we are all eating and my son had ordered the seafood alfredo. He ate the protein off the top first then proceeded to dig into the broccoli that was inside the pasta and the first bite of broccoli he pulled out had about a 7 inch knotted up piece of hair wrapped around it. They did remove it from our bill however a manager never bothered to come out to talk to us to resolve the issue or anything. We paid our bill and before leaving I decided to call and ask to speak to a manager. Whoever answered the phone and wanted to know why I wanted a manager. I should never have been questioned. The poor manager we spoke to was out cleaning their catering truck. I learned in this conversation there was more than one manager on site so there was no reason why someone couldn't have gotten the other manager and someone couldn't have come to our table. The manager we spoke to was very kind unappreciated us not giving a negative review. However I've been sick ever since I ate there. It is now Tuesday morning and my stomach is finally feeling better.I had a salad along with the appetizers that I had eaten. I was not going to leave this review but after getting very sick from eating their food I decided I should go ahead and leave a review. I've eaten there before and everything was delicious but maybe their kitchen staff doesn't know proper food handling and I would assume there is likely cross-contamination if I got sick from a wedge salad. I will just say eat here at your own risk it may have just been a bad day but I will not be going back there.
Stopped on my way home to listen to Shane Gamble!
Loved the food. But not happy with the management my wife is allergic to onions ordered spaghetti got a hint of onion had the waitress check with the kitchen they said their might be a chance it could of came in contact with some so she asked if they could take that off an she get something else to be safe an they told her she could get something else an pay for both.
First time here and heard great things about the place. The waitress was great, but the food was not up to par. My son got the chicken tenders and stopped eating the chicken because it was to hard to bite into and chew. Also my husband got the full rack of ribs and he ate 3 ribs off the one side and told the waitress that they were too hard to pull the meat off. He showed her and tried to even put a fork thru the meat. She told us since you ate some off it we can’t do anything about it except give you half off your check. The waitress took it back to the kitchen, than comes back and told us, if you want ribs you should come on our rib night where they are constantly cooking the ribs. So the rib’s definitely weren’t fresh and sat. Don’t recommend the food.

Love the wings!
If you are from Western New York, here's the good and the bad about the two staples (wings and beef on weck)
It's good enough to pass for an average meal in WNY. The hot sauce was on point but the wings were tiny. Beef on Weck, same thing. Small portion for the money compared to what you'd get back home and the bun was insanely overly salty. I love salty things but this was a bit overkill.
With that said, if you live in Maryland, it'll probably be the best wing sauce and roast beef sandwich you had in a long time.
My son got the chicken wing sandwich and he liked it a lot.
Service and atmosphere was good. Great staff and it did feel like walking into a wing joint back home. Nailed it there.
Went a few weeks ago on a Sat afternoon and had great service, great food and reasonable prices. I was also at the original Anchor Bar in Buffalo a few months ago and it was also fabulous. Need to come back again to have more Old Bay wings.
Been in Frederick for a year now and it was our first time there. First off the atmosphere was phenomenal! Secondly our waitress was AMAZING! Best waitress i think I've had in years. Drinks were great, food was fast and good however the salmon was pretty dry. That's my only complaint. The other thing is we had to wait for Silverware bc apparently they run out when it's busy. Yall need to supply your restaurant with ample Silverware. But we will definitely be back again!
Food is subpar. Wings are never crispy, even when you tell them to cook them extra crispy. Either the chicken wings are old, like they're getting them from a substandard supplier, or they cook the wings ahead of time and let them sit for a while and then they throw them back in the fryer to reheat them. I'm not sure, but the wings are not good. We have tried the wings many times here and they're always the same, so I don't think it's a one-off. As a native Buffalonian, I expect better. The beef on weck is a huge disappointment. The roll is wrong, and they only give you a tiny bit of beef. A kimmelweck roll is supposed to be a kaiser-style roll. They're using a hamburger bun and adding salt and caraway to it. Just a big let down. The prices are ridiculous for the quality and quantity of food.
