Stopped by on a Sunday night to watch March Madness and try out the famous wings.Arrived and were seated immediately. Jennifer was our waitress and she was excellent. Attentive and very communicative about everything. For dinner we started out with the mozzarella sticks. Loved the dipping sauce. For wings we had medium boneless, lemon pepper traditional and honey bourbon bbq traditional. They all had great flavor, especially the lemon pepper. I do have to say that the boneless wings were large. Much bigger in size than you get at other restaurants. For dessert we had the strawberry shortcake and mint Oreo milkshake. The strawberry shortcake was outstanding. We also had the Cancun Crush! The restaurant is huge. Lots of areas for dinning. Tons of screens and great views from every seat.Overall a great meal to have while watching sports with excellent service and great desserts!Enjoy!Vegetarian options: Some salads available but not a huge selectionParking: Lots of parking around the restaurantKid-friendliness: Kid menu available with wings, spaghetti, Mac and cheese, pizza, hot dogs and burgersWheelchair accessibility: All on one level with ability to move around tables.

ZERO STARS...This restaurant is an utter failure with regard to service. Me and my family went to the establishment at 5 PM on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Four of us were sat at a table with one utensil set; telling us they had no other silverware to offer us at the time of sitting; nor could offer us even a menu. After sitting for more than 15 minutes, we were forced to leave because we were not being acknowledged by the staff. During our wait, waiting for a staff member to ask for our order, we could see staff discussing billing with other tables; one gentleman claimed that he never paid his bill, and the waitress could not find, locate or acknowledge that he had a bill to be paid. Go here at your own risk; as this restaurant is not worth your time or money spent; never less the resources they have failed to put in place to ensure a positive experience. NEVER again...

Myself and a few other people come to anchor bar after we get off work to enjoy our evening and we usually enjoy it with T and Leah as bartenders. The bartenders today were ok but weren’t filling the vibe we normally get. I’ll understand if you’re trying to move people up in other positions, but T and Leah on Friday nights are a must. Don’t know who the manager is setting the schedules but would be nice to have T and Leah to work Friday nights at least. The vibe was not here today.

Went for St Patrick's Day Irish menu lunch.... When we arrived at 1:00 p.m. the place was not too busy but for some reason it took a long time for the food to make its way out of the kitchen to us....The beers came out quick enough but the food was really behind; no fault of the waitress the kitchen was just too darn slow today. However the Irish Burger and Ruben sandwich were both good choices...The $7.50 22 oz Guinness wasn't bad either ?

Despite its self proclaimed statement about being voted the best wings in Frederick, Anchor Bar fell short for our second visit. The wings were served rather dry (not well tossed). We had to ask for silverwares and my 10 wings special came with a very small portion of blue cheese. My partner complained about her beyond burger not tasting good. Our appetizer which featured shrimps had no taste (my partner dipped her shrimp in my wing sauce). For our first visit, we waited more than 20 minutes before our waitress took our appetizer order. We have no plans on returning for a third visit. The atmosphere seemed decent with a lot of people both times we visited.

So last weekend, my son and I went to grab lunch and we were sat down by the manager Daniel. He was very polite and friendly, he came across some dirty tables that he was originally going to sit us down. They weren't wiped down, so he took us to a table of 6 to sit when its just me and my son. It was fine, and I understand...maybe they were busy or short staffed, and they'll get to it when they can.It wasn't that busy, we noticed 2-3 servers moving around the dinning area. So we sat there and waited ...nobody came to us or even acknowledged us. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they're short staffed or something. So we waited and waited....nothing. There was 2 round tables behind us, a family comes and sits down in one of them, immediately they get asked for their drinks. Another family comes in and sits at the other table, and the same server goes to them and ask for their drinks.Meanwhile, my son and I are sitting there with our menus down....and nobody spoke to us. So I got up and went to the front, requested for a manager. They grabbed Daniel, who was the one that sat us down in the beginning. I told him what happened, and he wanted to make it right...but I declined his offer because I was heated. He then said "Wow, you guys waited at least 20 mins and nobody came to you? Next time you come back, ask for Daniel...and I'll take care of you."I returned yesterday night to have dinner w/ my family. I asked the host "Is Daniel in tonight? Can you grab him for me?" The host said "sure," and walked away from our table. Throughout the night, the manager never came. I really didn't want any freebies, just maybe an explanation of that incident. But he never came...I'm not sure if the host forgot, or he did. But if someone requests for a manager, I would assume...there's a little sense of urgency. On top of that, our check had a extra charge when it shouldn't have had that. It was one thing after another, the only highlight of the whole situation was our server Lauren. She was amazing and friendly. Very very accommodating and just extremely nice, so thank you Lauren.

My family is from Buffalo, NY, so we have a thing about chicken wings. We were extremely excited when Anchor Bar opened in Frederick. We have been there a handful of times and are always very impressed. We stopped here on the way back from Harper's Ferry. Our server was Thomas and he was one of the best servers we have ever had. Anchor Bar is lucky to have him.We ordered the mussels for an appetizer. My children (9, 7 & 4) devoured them. The appetizer had about 20 mussels, which is a nice size for an app. The butter garlic sauce was delicious with the bread. We ordered chicken wings - medium & maple flavored. Maple was a seasonal flavor and surprisingly good. We also ordered a kids cheese pizza, kids wings - old and mild. We prefer blue cheese with our wings (the only correct way to eat them). I really appreciated Thomas asking if we wanted our wings a little crispier. His attention to detail was great.

We were seated quickly, started with beer and wings. Wings were amazing the beer was good, the waitress was absent. Other waitresses were busy and frequently checked their tables.
