Went there with a group of 13. There was only 2 other tables with patrons. Lizzy was our waitress. She was great! Got us our drinks right away, served appetizers shortly after. But that's where it ended. We got there at 6:20. Took almost 2 hours to get our meal. Dinners came out one meal at a time in the course of about 20 minutes. Some were done before others got their food. Steaks were done opposite of what was asked. Unfortunately it was not Lizzy's fault. We noticed only one cook in the kitchen. Everyone was disappointed. Don't think any of the 13 will be back.
It's been a few years since we've been after having kids we don't get out to sit down restaurants much. We were pleasantly surprised with the new menu and beer. Our food was great and came out quickly. We ordered the Tuna poké nacho appetizer which was fresh and the house made chips were crispy and delicious. For our entree we had salmon tacos which were also great with a generous portion of salmon. I would have liked more cilantro in my cilantro rice but I also think I like cilantro more than most too. Timing was right on, app came out right after our beer and the entree came soon after we finished that. The beer was really fantastic and was really a step above what it used to be. As said in another review here, this establishment has recently been given many unfair 1â reviews due to a disgruntled group that got butt hurt over a meme posted on Facebook. They took it upon themselves to act like spoiled children and post negative reviews even when many of them had never even been here.
Food was great. But service was terrible. I dont recommend going here unless you want to wait 30 minutes for a drink and 1 hour for food. Seemed to be all the focus was on the bar.
Great food, friendly waitress but slow service for a empty restaurant. Will go back but don't be starving it will take a bit.
The food and beer were outstanding. We went in for a late lunch and the time between ordering food and receiving it was a bit long considering the small amount of customers ... but we did not come to B & H for fast food! Service was great.
Frankie was a good waitress. The food was satisfying. The taco bowl was delish. The burgers were perfect for my daughter, but the medium rare for hubby was overdone. I would give a 4.5!
We had the rehearsal dinner for our wedding at Barley & Hops. It was such a lovely evening on the patio. The food and beer were equally delicious. The servers did such a wonderful job at managing a large group of people and taking care of our needs. The manager Ashley and head chef John met us during the planning phase and were very reassuring and creative in their ideas. It was the perfect beginning to our wedding weekend. Barley & Hops is definitely now a routine must-stop for their great atmosphere and delicious food when we are passing through Frederick.
This is the second time I've come here. I came here today because his under New Management. Figure it out under New Management at the service and the quality of the food would have changed. I was sadly disappointed when I found out there was no new Management. And the service of the quality were abysmal like it was before. Took 20 minutes to get my food out and it still came out after somebody else that place an order after I did. The barbecue ribs were lukewarm the sweet potato french fries where warm but it would have been nice to have a alternative. I am never going to this restaurant again.
Great sandwiches and craft brews. Ask for Jordan as a server. Great service, engaging personality and lovely person.
We were absolutely appalled and turned away. After waiting about 7 min for hostess to return to front check in, she told us that it would be a 20 min wait. Ok. No prob. Because we could see 7 empty booths and 2 empty tables. She again said she could not seat us because the kitchen was backed up. Ok. No apology no explanation. Maybe she was just following orders. So, we asked about the open seating. Again she said It would be a 20 min wait. Can we just sit and start with drinks? We can wait. Again she said no. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Not even an offer to sit at the bar to wait? No apology. Nothing. Whoever runs this place really needs to get a grip. Your service is terrible. I'm sorry that I brought a friend and spoke highly of B&H. Not going back. Very very disappointed to say the least.

This place is the worst. It's a slow Saturday night but it took 1h 15m to get our entrees. We ordered no appetizers. When our food came it wasn't delivered all the same time. 1 in our party for their food after 40m, 3 got them in 1hr and 2 after 1h 15m. I haven't seen such bad service in a long time.
Farrell is always a wonderful host. Beer is the best craft in Frederick and the food is wonderful for a local joint.
All of the negative reviews posted lately are because there's a group of unhappy bicyclists who were vehemently opposed to a meme posted on B&H's Facebook page last week. We've been going to Barley & Hops for years, I've never had bad service, I've never had bad food, and I've never seen a single insect or bug anywhere inside the restaurant.
Awful service, inconsistent food quality, terrible atmosphere that feels like an applebees. The sad part is they actually have amazing beer.
Constantly updated but consistently delicious menu. Great in house microbrews. Friendly staff, and great crowd. No reason not to try one of the best restaurants in Fredneck.
