Beer & Wine shop at Friscos

This place is hit or miss. Sometimes the food is good and ready for pick up. Sometimes not .

Totally random choice of restaurant while we were in Frederick for a festival. It was a few minutes away and sounded interesting. Driving into this place had us feeling like we weren’t sure it would be open, but sure enough, there’s a bunch of cars in the parking lot. Emboldened, we pulled in and stepped inside. The extensive menu dominates your vision as your eyes adjust. We decided on some southwest nachos, Spicy chili, a steak sammich, and a trans am. The southwest nachos were amazing and full of flavor. The spicy chili was like a medium heat but flavorful. The steak sandwich is a slab of steak on a roll. Steak was very tender and easy to eat despite being whole. A wonderful experience to eat. Last, the Trans Am was a huge affair of which half came home with us. Overall it was a great experience. We’ve told several people to swing out and give it a try, they have nothing to lose on any menu choice. We ourselves will be returning again without a doubt.

The folks who own and run this place are definately listening to a different drummer. They started out with the concept of having a San Francisco type cafe on the east coast. It has evolved into something unique, in Maryland. There are two buildings. One houses the bar and restaurant, the other has the wine and beer store and the restaurant take-out section. It's located in a newish business park area (not a lot of other eateries nearby) and their buildings have the look of a cinder block building that could be a car repair or machine shop. Don't let the outside fool you. It's a creative and interesting restaurant that offers lots of sandwiches, salads & bowls and bar food. And you'll be amazed at what they've done with baked potatoes. You can also pick up beer and wine at fair prices. Check out their website. Then go try it.

Great team building activity for co workers. Place is BYOB and BYOF and pits are rented in blocks of an hour.

So much meat it is always worth the money. Great sandwiches and exploded potatoes, staff is always courteous.

Top-notch eats & service at a reasonable price. The house-cooked pit beef is perfect- but a 1/2 pound comes on a sub, so be rreeady.

For years we are coming back to Friscos, we just love the food and the great selection for lunch or for an early dinner or even for take out to enjoy instead of meals served on airplanes... We enjoy the big selection of healthy choices and the thoughtful selection of wine and beer. People are very friendly and considerate. We hope to be able to return for many years to come. Top notch service with a wide selection of subs. Can't ask for more from a sandwich shop. My sub was very good and fresh. Would recommend!
