Staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is nice, but the food can be a bit hit-or-miss (and thus mediocre). I’ve had almost everything on the menu at this point - the pork tacos are delicious, but the chili is best avoided
Great spot! Great people making great BBQ!
Two Meats, Pulled Pork Sandwich and sauce is THE boss.
Definitely coming back.

We are from Texas and just stumbled into this place. Legitimate Texas brisket. Sides were very good as well. My wife had the turkey and said it was very good as well. She said the sweet potatoes were the best she ever had. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Very nice place with clean restrooms. Outstanding visit!!

If you call this good bbq we can't be friends. Or you're probably from New England. Beans, sauces, and portion sizes were all good, service was VERY good but, if you're used to bbq in Texas, Memphis, Kansas City, or Alabama this will not satisfy you.

Service was quick and excellent. Pork shoulder and brisquet sandwiches hit the spot. Always on the list when my inner carnivore needs to be fed. This location has had a major face-lift inside and added more convenient outdoor seating. The inside seating has a more spacious and open feel and everything is clean and fresh. In so doing it lost a bit of the old charm but the renovation is a net positive. The added outdoor seating is a plus too, but it did cost some parking spaces in the back lot.
Parking: Maybe a dozen spots free parking out back. The lot is a bit tight if you happen to pull in and no spots are available. If going for weekday lunch plan to arrive by 11:30 or so if you want to snag a spot out back. Otherwise street is a possibility.

Finished up our day drinking day here. Unfortunately, we didn't get here in time to try the brisket, but the smoked turkey was tasty and tender! Amanda and the rest of the staff provided top-notch service - certainly the best we had all day!

Delicious grub! The smoked beef sausage was fabulous, brisket smoked to perfection and the sweet potatoes where scumptous. The Mac & cheese was delicious but needed to be a bit creamier. Overall, a great meal, great service and awesome outdoor seating.

First time at Black Hog and the service was excellent! Chad was the best server to have as my first impression of the restaurant. He was very kind and knowledgeable of the menu. He gave great suggestions and was humorous. I’m a southerner so the food left a little to be desired for my taste. The taco appetizer and ribs were great but the sides and dessert were subpar. The collards were either undercooked or actually turnip greens. The texture was just not right for me. The potato salad was average and the Mac n cheese had flour in it to thicken it (roux) which gave it a weird consistency that is odd for what I’ve had from other BarbQue locations. I’m used to seeing a more creamy texture. Also the most offensive was the banana pudding without the BANANAS! Basically a $5 bowl of boxed pudding with vanilla wafer crumbs. Smh I will never understand this.
Overall not a bad experience but would not consider a repeat visit for the food at least. The food was just mediocre.
