I always go for the Triple Meat Mofo when I come here. Delicious sandwich. The sides available are also superb. Well, I especially go for it because it is an extremely limited menu. I would definitely go here more often if they expanded their menu quite a bit.

Went around 4:30/5 pm on a Saturday and it wasn't packed at all, the hostess seated us right away and the server was super friendly. The drinks were really good-not watered down! We asked for the gumbo starter and the server was nice enough to bring it in 2 separate bowls without us asking! The food was amazing, the gumbo was spicy but enjoyable, the only thing I didn't enjoy too much was the chicken-it was dry but well seasoned! We will definitely be going back. I would say hands down better than Mission BBQ! It did start to get really busy around 5:30 but the service still seemed to flow well!

Despite the meats, especially brisket was too dry, sides & corn bread were good. Service is good & some are attentive but others are looking the other way. The ambiance is simple & clean.

Really average BBQ. Don't know if recipes have changed or if they've just gone down hill but the only thing I liked was the potato salad. Arkansas brisket was grisly, beans were sour, coleslaw flavorless, sausage undercooked, chicken way too salty. I think the cocktails must be made by alcoholics because honestly, they just taste like cheap booze. There are better places to go for BBQ... Mission BBQ is consistently better than this.

For quick service chain bbq it's good. There are definitely better mom and pop bbq places out there.

Well if you like BBQ joints, there is a lot to like here. If you don't, you'd mind the menu as challenging as three-dimensional chess. During a recent midweek lunch, the near-empty restaurant pleased our plates with Arkansas-Style brisket (perhaps similar to burnt ends, bathed in semi-sweet, thick sauce) and excellent side dishes. On balance, the menu and taste (limited so far by what we did order) compares favorably with Mission Barbecue. (I consider Mission to be the Chevrolet of such places - a solid choice that represents a minimum acceptable standard). Prices were a little steep; is the $15 lunch now in the rear-view mirror because it cannot be attained here. A little less food for a little less money, on the lunch menu, could earn that 5th star. Maybe they earn it when I return and try something diffeent, which I plan to do. One final point: the location provides lots of local competition to Black Hog; requiring them to keep on their toes to continue to succeed. Let's hope they do.

Took a chance during a snow storm and we were amazed at how good it was. Hard to choose what was our favorite item. Excellent sides. The coleslaw was amazing and the beans too. Had two different types of pork that were incredible.

Stopped in for dinner on our way to DC and holy cow did they deliver. Great and fast service, place was pretty calm even though it was a Saturday night. My sisters and I all got the Meal on a Bun sandwich (pulled pork, coleslaw, french fries, and house bbq sauce) with a different side each to try (mac & cheese, potato salad, and sweet potato), while our dad got the Triple Meat Mofo sandwich (smoked ham, pork, and brisket with onions and cheese) with southern greens. When I tell y’all this is some of the best (if not THE best) bbq we’ve ever had. Every single thing we tried blew us away, all of it was delicious. Food came out super quick and I can’t complement it enough. Whether you’re local, or passing through, you’ve got to give this place a try!!Parking: Parking lot is just next to the resturant and is set off behind it. It’s not super big but there’s enough spots to hold customers and if not, there’s street parking available with a meter.

First visit, after driving by many times on our way into downtown. This time it was very close to our Airbnb, so we stopped in and gave it a try. Our waiter, Sam, was awesome and he mixed our cocktails as well. We had 3 meats- house made sausage, Texas brisket and dry rubbed ribs- they were all outstanding. The sides- French fries, greens and beans were equally as good. Can't say enough about Black Hog- can't wait to come back on our next trip to Frederick.

Kid friendly, delicious food! Loved trying all the different sauces. They didn’t mind bringing me a high chair for my toddler and after we ordered we had our food in probably 10 minutes. Everything was hot and fresh, my daughter loved the sweet potatoes and pulled pork. Also had a helpful GF and DF menu for my sister who has food allergies and she loved her meal.
