My boyfriend and I came to visit Frederick with high hopes; However our experience here left a sour taste in our mouths. We felt very un-welcomed by the staff here. Both of us have been in the service industry and are pretty personable people, but the staff here were unkind and tried to push us out. The server that took our order was never to be seen after the first interaction, the management and other staff were staring at us frowning from the door to the entire time we spent there. I've never felt more un-welcomed in my life. Steer clear of this place..

Worst Mexican food I have ever had. Service was poor. Food wasn't hot and salsa was terrible , chips were hard and most Mexican restaurants don't charge for chips and salsa. It is apparent that management was weak. For what we got the prices were too high and the quality of food doesn't match the prices. The atmosphere was the only thing I can give a decent review! The restaurant is located in a nice area but they need to work on quite a few things foe me to give them a better rating.

I will never come back here. I used to love this place! And I’m sure they don’t want me back. I’ve never been to a restaurant that nickel and dimes you to death. I’ll stay with J&V all day every day! At J&V the chips and salsa are complementary not $4.99. When you order Carnita tacos, you aren’t up charged $1 without them telling you. That’s just how they serve their tacos. J&V gives you plenty of cucumbers for each taco, Café. Bueno gives you two small cucumbers slices to split amongst three tacos. When I asked for more cucumbers, they tried to charge me $1. It’s not that I’m trying to be cheap. I think they are trying to up charge on items that should be complementary like virtually every other Latino restaurant. The taste isn’t even comparable because J&V are by far the best tacos in Frederick. Go try J&V and you won’t be disappointed!

Excellent quality food, love the decor, staff was friendly and attentive, super-sized meals. Nothing bad to say about this restaurant ... will visit again for sure!

Maaannnnn listen.. The food is amazing. We're vegan, so to see there's options to work with, VERY TASTY OPTIONS, this is beautifully added bonus!

The water actually didn't taste like straight tap, the soft tacos and tortillas as cooked.. Heated.. Whatever you want to call it.. Perfectly, then wrapped in foil for perfect integrity as it awaits being devoured with your main course.

I chose the vegetarian fajita, loved ones chose the steak soft taco dinner and the fried fish sandwich deal.. My goodness. Everything was seasoned very well, without being overbearing for the basic pallet. Accompanied with 3 options of hot sauce to apply, you cannot go wrong here.

I certainly will be going again and highly recommend this establishment. If you're lucky, you may also be able to take note of the railroad history uniquely assimilated into the structure and ambiance.

Well done.

Vegetarian options: Vegetables are primarily the base of each dish.. Remove the meat.. You're good to go in majority of the cases.

Kid-friendliness: Kids will get lost in the artwork.

Wheelchair accessibility: Long ramp is available.

Went to Cafe Bueno after hearing from several friends it is one of the best mexican restaurants in town.
Well, I will be honest, I'm a little disappointed starting with NO free chips and salsa, seriously $6?

I ordered my usual steak fajitas, and it was pretty bland, had lots of pepper, and the portion of rice and beans was minuscule. Guacamole was unedible, terrible consistency.

I get that they are probably a higher end from what I am used to, but the quality of food vs. price is just not worth it.

We also ordered 2 drinks and again they were also not good, tastes cheap!

However, the service was absolutely great, and the ambiance is nice.

I'm originally from Southern California and finding quality mexican food in Frederick has been difficult. Cafe Bueno is by far the best Mexican food in the area I've had thus far.

First time visit during lunch. The chicken quesadilla was flavorful and delicious. Ordered the California chicken burrito was just okay. I am used to having chips and salsa and was disappointed that it would cost extra unlike other local places. Overall, would like to visit again for dinner.
