Waited and waited and the staff were rude and service was bad. Finally left without getting food
I’m torn on this restaurant. It’s a really great atmosphere and fantastic beverages, but the food wasn’t very good and the server wasn’t attentive. Not sure I’d give it another go unless I stuck to the bar.

It’s pretty good. Hot or miss on the food selection. Service was great and friendly. Seems like they need to have a few staples to draw people in.

First time. Service at the podium and service at the table was excellent. Food was pretty good but not great. I ordered their BLT. If you’re going to offer it, it’s got to good on all fronts. This wasn’t. The bacon was weak, the lettuce was shredded, so I’m guessing it was from a bag, and the tomato was pink. It’s tomato season here in Frederick! It should have a beautiful ripe red tomato slice! We might come back and try something else.

I am a Marine Corps veteran. This hole in the wall had me investigated for writing a scathing review of their cesspool of degenerates. This was after I had to educate their staff on Service Dogs. Hard pass left. #gameon

This was our second time dining at Cafe Nola this summer. Unfortunately, it was a very similar experience to our first visit, just average overall and somewhat disappointing. Our issue was not with the service, it was great. Both the host and the server met our expectations. Our issue was not with the overall décor. It has a cluttered cozy-cafe vibe. However, if you look too close you'll probably be a bit disappointed as it's a bit rough and dated. Our problem with Cafe Nola is the quality of the food. It is bland, basic and mediocre. I'm guessing that the owners are attempting to offer a product at a specific price point so they are forced to offer average diner-type food. There are very few, if any, good breakfast restaurants in Frederick so with little competition, Cafe Nola is probably not hurting for business. To the owners of Cafe Nola, if your goal is to increase business or to increase margins, start by elevating your food. Bring in a food consultant if your current chef doesn't have the skill set to do this. Until this happens, we won't return.
Note, we live 1.7 miles away.

This is a cozy, funky cafe with delicious food options for vegans and omnivores (perfect for my family, since I am a vegan and some of my family members prefer to eat at restaurants with meat options). I ordered the black bean wrap with a side salad (which was vegan without modifications). It was a colorful and creative combination of flavors and textures! It's refreshing to have a bean-based vegan option as opposed to tofu or meat alternatives. The waiter was also friendly and accommodating. After I complimented the artwork, he wrote down the names of the artists so I could check them out.
I highly recommend checking out Cafe Nola!

**Discover the Charm of Café Nola in Frederick, Virginia**
Step into Café Nola and be instantly welcomed by the warm, attentive staff ready to make your visit memorable. The ambiance is eclectic, characterized by rich, dark tones that create a cozy yet vibrant dining experience. This delightful spot keeps things fresh and exciting with some of their menus presented on chalkboards, promising new surprises with each visit.
For breakfast, I indulged in their flawless breakfast sandwich that hit just the right spot, coupled with a customized coffee beverage that was nothing short of astonishing. The quality of the morning menu set a high standard for what one can expect at any time of the day.
Café Nola isn’t just a breakfast spot; it’s a full culinary experience with a full bar and an impressive selection of craft beers. The food choices are excellent across the board, and the fact that they're open late is a rarity worth taking advantage of in this part of town.
For those curious about their night menu, I recommend contacting them to discover if the evening offerings mirror the deliciousness of their daytime fare. Whether you're in for brunch or a late-night bite, Café Nola promises not just a meal, but a delightful dining escapade.

Great spot in DT Frederick . The food was great as I had the breakfast burrito with fresh fruit, and the lattes are exceptional as was the service. My only complaint would be it can get a little noisy and at times wait can be long.
