Food was good but lox have some pin bones you need to eat carefully.Kid-friendliness: My friend and I went with our babies. And they were 3 more tables with babies. But the bathroom doesn't have a baby changer. We needed to put to chairs in the bathroom to be able to change the baby.

Love the versatility of this place - coffee + alcohol, vegan food + meat food, breakfast + dinner, good solo or with a group - and it's always good!

I came in to get some coffee and they had already closed down the machine, but they still gave me a glass of water! Thank you!

Took a looonng walk with a friend and our dogs - stopped for drinks at Cafe Nola - or at least that was the plan. The bartender carded my friend - who is 60 and insisted I come inside to show ID - and I'm nearly 60 - complete with grey hair. They would not sell me a drink because I didn't have my physical ID card on me - had a photo on my phone. This is absurd - Maryland law does not REQUIRE me to produce ID to buy alcohol if it is clear I am of age. I also offered to show ID - albeit not the physical card - again - not the requirement. That is NOT just "doing your job" - it is unnecessary and verges on harassment. Don't take my word for it - here is the law: "employees will have discretion, not to require an ID, from those customers that obviously meet the age requirements. This policy is adopted to assure and assist proper compliance with Maryland law, prohibiting sale of alcoholic beverages to people under 21 years of age. It is not our intent to inconvenience our customers unnecessarily, but rather assure that the age requirement is met, without inadvertently applying potentially subjective or perceived discrimination practices at checkout." I took my business elsewhere and was served without issue. Will not be going back.

My complaints here is that: 1. The service was so fast it just didn't leave any time to find things to complain about; 2. The bartender who took care of us smiled constantly and was so perfectly attentive without hovering that again we were stumped at our usual game of finding suitable complaints; 3. The lattes were unfortunately so good that we had to buy a second round as to-go after our meal; 3. The meals themselves were unfortunately super delicious and so generous in portion that now we are probably done eating for today, so totally making us rethink our dinner plans. Other than that the place was terrific.

There were 5 of us for brunch on Saturday at 9:30AM. We had an 18 month old in our group. They had empty tables but didn’t want to put a high chair at any of those tables. It was below freezing outside that day, and rather than let us wait near the hostess table, they asked us to wait in the outdoor vestibule. I protested that they were going to send an infant out into the cold. One adult stayed inside with the baby while the rest of us waited outside. The food wasn’t even that good. Next time, we’ll have brunch at Showroom!
