Chaps Pit Beef Frederick

Food was spectacular. They pile the meat on the sandwiches so if you're like me, one sandwich will turn in to two meals. The service was prompt and the staff were incredibly polite. It was quiet inside apart from the other guests having their conversations. I wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often. 10/10

I came here as it was highly recommended by a friend. I got the Pit Beef Platter, and it was absolutely terrible. The meat had zero flavor. No smoke flavor, no salt, pepper, nothing. It was slapped on top of 2 slices of bread which they probably used from a loaf they bought from Giant. The side was a pile of semi crispy unsalted fries. And they pile gravy on it--(which wasnt very good either). All the gravy does is mask the non flavor from the meat. My wife got a sandwich which was decent. Maybe I should give this review 2 stars. But the beef platter was that bad, I'm sticking to 1 star and wont return. If I didnt pay 12 bucks for the meal I would have thrown it in the trash.Their house BBQ sauce was decent.

Yes, I made a special trip here as this Chap's is the closest pit beef to my house. Unlike the strip club parking lot of the original, this one is in a typical non-descript shopping center. My server was Nicole who quickly brought me my five sandwiches and fries with gravy. All were excellent! As for condiments, here are my recommends since availability of Tiger Sauce is spotty, at best. First, the sandwich straight is no slouch. Second, I suggest Heinz 57 sauce. Third, is Arby's "Horsey Sauce". It doesn't have quite the horseradish kick of Tiger Sauce. But, is more available in supermarkets. Fourth is mayonnaise. Fifth, is Arby's Barbecue Sauce. The fries topped with gravy were excellent, as well. The pricing is fair given the quality and serving sizes. Easy enough to get in and out of. And, unlike my visit to the location on Pulaski Highway, I didn't have to detour around a police shoot-out. Summary: This is a must!

I knew I had to try this place after I seen a picture on their IG of gravy fries. And I was not disappointed! I ordered the beef plater (I think that's the name) the meat was made to order and was cooked pretty prefect! Very tinder and juicy. I got the gravy on the side so my fires wouldn't get soggy before I went back to work. Everything was hot and fresh. Service was also friendly and food came out pretty fast. I will be returning.

AMAZING food!! I've loved everything I've tried so far. My favorites are the Rachael or the Turkey Rachael. The fries are also really good! Great place to stop if you want a good sandwich.

Excellent service, great open faced sandwich. Turkey was tender and went well with the gravy over the potato bread underneath. Fries seemed a touch overcooked but maybe that was the idea for adding gravy on top, which was fine.Would definitely order again. Can't wait to try other menu options.

Love this place. Best pit beef anywhere. And their combo sandwiches are loaded with meat! Some other place says they have the meats but they have nothing on this place. The Raven might be the best sandwich I've ever had anywhere

The entire team is really nice, lead by an amazing Manager Justin, and the food is amazing! What more could you want?? Thank you to Justin and your team for your service and hospitality! Sliced ham, sliced pit beef cooked how you like it, smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo AND their famous mac & cheese. DAMN SKIPPY… mac & cheese on a sandwich! Husband & I love this place! When house-hunting last year, we came here frequently and kept returning due to the delicious food & friendly staff! Came in today & had the pleasure of meeting GM Justin, who was so kind and accommodating! 20/10, highly recommend for freshly made pit beef bbq deliciousness! (And the yummy gold BBQ sauce!)

As soon as I walked in I knew I made the right choice for my meal. They greeted me as soon as I got in the door. They started talking about what I would like even before I made up my mind. We gave our order and was surprised when we got it. The sandwiches were made with care and not just thrown on the bread or roll. The meat was just right, rare and warm. The ham sandwich was also made perfect and warm. The help was very friendly and even said goodbye when we left. Will definitely go back to this Chaps when we are in Frederick. The complete opposite of the one in Glen Burnie.

Oh boy that was good food.I'm a BBQ aficionado. I've eaten everywhere in the country, and this place is now on my "I hope I can go back" list. The beef was great. I had a mixed meat sandwich. The grill is a great idea. The food was good. The people behind the counter were really amicable. It was a great sandwich. Said the guy who eats nothing but sandwiches. And barbecue, but I already told you that.Me, personally?I think what you should go.Go hungry. ??

We stopped in for a quick lunch. We had never been here before. In fact, I had never heard of it before. Good service. The menu was on 2 big screens, then you take the order to the counter. Pay for the food and then it is brought to your table in a bag. Refillable drinks that you serve yourself. The employees are very friendly. Nothing fancy. My Reuben was delish! And the Larry Burger I brought home for my husband was so filling, I did not have to make dinner!

This place is absolutely delicious! Of course the pit beef itself is amazing but they have so much more including delicious sauces and a special mac and cheese my kids can't get enough of. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly, a great go to place for me and my family.
