if I could give 0 stars, I would. My friend and I ordered from here and there was hair in the food, she reached out to the establishment just for some one to tell her that she was lying and edited a pubic hair into a LIVE PHOTO… 0 professionalism or accountability. They were very very disrespectful, and we aren’t even from the area so we weren’t expecting much of a resolution, just acknowledgment and accountability, so that this does not happen moving forward. Hopefully no one else has to experience this.
This place was the only thing I ate all day I started vomiting and had diarrhea so bad. I went to the hospital and had a severe case of food poisoning. Please do not eat here.
I live 30 minutes away from this location. I got off of work and ordered over $50.00 worth of food. I found hair in my food that my fiancé and two toddler children were eating. I reached out to the business owner and sent photos. The first photo was a LIVE IPhone photo i texted to the woman, she stated that she doesn’t see the hair. So I zoomed in and got accused of drawing the hair on the picture, and then told the quality isn’t clear. As a restaurant owner this was so distasteful and terrible service. I will not be back they do not value loyal customers. Woman was very rude and never once tried to rectify the situation. I will not be back.
Have come to love this spot - the food is always very fresh, flavor balanced. the crispy beef is a fav - also the spring rolls, and dumplings. Also really love the owners. They are very friendly and kind.
I've had multiple dishes from this restaurant and not a single one has been a disappointment. The owners are very sweet and are wonderful with recommendations.
This has become my favorite chinese restaurant in Frederick and the surrounding area. Give them a try, my favorite dish- Sweet and sour chicken, and an order of veggie spring rolls.
Avoid eating here. I ordered the General Tso’s chicken, and it gave me the worst case of diarrhea imaginable. This one experience completely ruined my love for Chinese food—I don’t think I’ll ever eat it again.
The food is delicious and the are great
I struggle with a 4 star rating but there is no opportunity to give a 3.5 which is where I would truly rank them. The General Tso's is pretty good with a nice portion. The Kung Pao is far more veggies than meat, so that's sad but the flavor is good. The dish not recommended is the Mongolian Beef!!!! A few pieces of beef (fairly good flavor) with mostly onions - green and white. Just can't recommend it. Spring rolls are good. Fried rice is lacking flavor (regardless of pork or shrimp). Food in general could be more consistent. That said, probably the best Chinese restaurant on this side of Frederick and a lot better than the previous owners - In the early 2000s the food was great and then fell off so far that we stopped patronizing until 2024. Hopefully, they are on a learning curve.
I’ve been ordering here for about a year or so now. To help understand my rating, if you’re familiar with Peking Gourmet from 2015-2019 this would rank below it for me personally (they switched ownership this year/last). But overall it’s a solid option in Frederick.
After ordering a few times as well as sitting inside the restaurant as most hole in the walls are. It’s your typical Chinese American restaurant, but with very pleasant and kind staff. They have steak and cheese egg rolls on a board written in store, I highly recommend if you’re into south western egg rolls, bulgogi egg rolls, just different types.
Their website needs some work, so I grabbed a menu and told the owners that I would be posting it to possibly help them as you can’t find one online. They have a solid menu selection. Personally this isn’t my favorite variation of kung pao chicken, but it definitely translates as a healthier version common from many other Chinese restaurants. I normally get steamed dumplings. Orange beef is good. It’s still made with flank steak, not small chunks like some of the other restaurants have switched too. Below in photos though are kung pao, orange chicken, fried dumplings.

Been meaning to do a review on this establishment for a long time. I've been ordering from here since moving to Frederick back in the late 2000s, and I still cannot find any other Chinese food restaurant in Frederick that compares.
Their combination lo mein is something I think about weekly. Their entire menu is solid, consistent, and I've never once in my many, many MAAAAANY times ordering had any complaint (and at this point I think I've ordered almost everything on the menu).
The owners of this restaurant are kind and generous people - and their establishment has objectively better prices than a lot of other similar restaurants.
Love Eastern 89, easily one of my favorite places, and I highly recommend to anyone looking for this sorta restaurant.

It's probably the most consistent Chinese carry out in Frederick. Never had a bad experience since we started going 12 years ago.
