Great, great great donuts. Fresh out of the donut maker. Hot and delicious. The star could use a little sprucing up… But the donuts are delicious.

The donuts are made fresh to order and there are a amazing variety. Best donuts in the area. You can also get an egg, cheese and meat donut sandwich that rocks. It also has my wife's favorite latte. Don't expect luxury service for a 4 dollar sandwich. Recommend take out

The donuts here are truly incredible but whatever you do, don’t order the egg-based breakfast. Especially the burrito, it tastes like microwaved eggs between mission tortillas (and I fear that may actually be what it is). Additionally, the drinks are not great. I’ve had the cold brew and the cream was separated and I couldn’t drink it. I’ve also had a flavored latte and it was 98% milk, 1% espresso and 1% mocha. The bathroom is also not greatly kept but the service is wonderful and once again, the most amazing, fresh donuts.

Even though I no longer live in Maryland, when I’m back in town I absolutely have to stop by this place! The many different flavors of glaze are what really sets Fractured Prune apart. The donuts are glazed to order so they’re always hot and fresh. The dough provides a lovely crispness on the edges and a soft doughy center.

So I walked in this place today to give their donuts a try, but was met with unwanted and rude customer service from the lady with the black mole on her face no offense to anyone with a mole on their face, but it seemed as if every time I asked her a question, I was being annoying and she would ignore my questions and kept askingWhat would you like? Let me know when you’re ready while I’m trying to be friendly and ask some questions since it was my first time so I’m not sure what her issue is or maybe she has an issue with my skin color being black or what the issue may be, but
After looking at the selections and filling the unwanted energy, I just told her no thank you and left because that was a horrible experience for someone’s first time in their establishment I wish I was able to give a rating based off of their food, but off of that alone I didn’t even try so this is my experience

Absolutely disgusting. The place was filthy — dirty sink, food splashes on the walls, old pipes showing, and oil that looked like it hadn’t been changed in ages. There was also an old, neglected dog shaking in the shop, which was heartbreaking to see. The donut tasted like pure grease; I threw it away after one bite. This place needs to be reported to the health department.

These are BY FAR THE BEST DONUTS IN THE WORLD. The are always hot made to order pieces of art that you can eat. They are one of the best desserts, cake donuts I wish more people knew so they would have more locations and evening hours I like them at night after dinner the plain jane is amazing also. Been here a million times always wanting to come back soon. Treat yourself won't be disappointed, the owner makes them and hes a super nice guy also cant beat it

The saddest donut shop you will ever visit. The store looks dirty and unorganized with mis match furniture and boxes sitting out. The woman at check out did not greet us or smile, just asked how many donuts we wanted. She looked miserable. Her young son wandered in the back and tried to get her attention and she told him to stop bothering her and go talk to Nick. Then she made several disturbing comments about Nick's butt crack and belly. I wanted to get out of there but I had promised my kids donuts. Then when our donuts were ready they were soggy and gross.

I first had Fractured Prune over 15 years ago in Ocean City, during Beach Week of senior year at high school. Since then, I have remembered it as the best donut I've ever had. I've even tried finding a replacement, such as Duck Donuts, but nothing came close.

Randomly in 2025, I decided to search up Fractured Prune on Google Maps and was surprised to see that there was one about an hour away from me, which is better than driving 3 hours to Ocean City. So I decided to make the trip up to Frederick to see if Fractured Prune is as good as I remembered.

When I got there, the place seemed a little old and run-down. The employees weren't very polite or hospitable either, which other reviewers have noted. Neither of them greeted me when I walked in, and they were talking amongst themselves, standing 4-6 feet away from the counter while looking at me, which made it confusing to me whether anyone was going to take my order or not. After standing around for a minute, I asked one of the workers if he was taking my order or not before he even gave any indication that he was willing to take my order. Not a good start, but I went ahead and ordered some donuts anyway (though I was half considering just walking out).

I was starting to expect that the donuts wouldn't be as good as I remembered, but after taking a bite...wow. They were just as good as I remembered and still live up to the hype of the best donut I've ever had. It may not be everybody's cup of tea, but I love the overly-glazed, flavorful, soft type of donut.

Despite the poor customer service, I'm still giving this place 5 stars because the donuts are that damn good. I'd rather deal with cold employees and have amazing donuts once in a while than waiting upon a blue moon for me to decide to go up to Ocean City again. Plus, it makes me feel better about not leaving a tip, so I save $5-20 per trip there.

Extremely rude! Don’t go in with a $50 for their $24 a dozen donuts! They won’t serve you unless you stand and allow the manager to talk to you like garbage!

Hot, made to order doughnuts. Creative menu with a wide variety of doughnut toppings.
