I've eaten here several times and never have trouble finding something tasty and vegan. The last time, I had artichoke pizza with vegan cheese, and it didn't disappoint. Frederick Social has a nice, casual atmosphere, with a variety of seating and a whole wall of self-serve beers and other beverages, and I've found the attendants to be very friendly.
The kitchen closes an hour before the establishment, so our friends were able to order food, but we were not (and the staff weren’t particularly nice about it). Food took a long time and was mediocre for the price. Not a ton of vegan options, and they were out of at least one (the lentil sliders). Updated from previous review on 2025-09-01
I occasionally meet friends here and sit outside with our dog. Casual setting. Unfortunately, they now have only a few vegan items - one is an appetizer. Lots of self-serve beer options. Updated from previous review on 2025-08-20
Cool place. We had a great time. I love the whole concept they are going for. It's an easy place to hang out. Like a modern tavern.

Ambiance is awesome. Would give 5 stars but the food is slow to come out - there are even signs saying it will take 25 minutes to get food.when you get it it is always good. But don't offer food if you can't handle the operations.

Frederick Social is one of my favorite spots in town for craft beer. The selection is always top-notch with tons of variety, and I love the self-pour setup—it’s perfect for tasting around (sorry for using so many glasses!). I also really appreciate the rotating charity tap; I always make a point to grab a few ounces of whatever’s featured.
The food is another highlight. It’s innovative, with lots of vegetarian options that go way beyond the usual afterthoughts you see on most menus. Everything I’ve tried has been fresh and flavorful.
The staff and patrons are super friendly, and the overall vibe is welcoming and relaxed. The only thing that keeps me from being here every weekend is the volume level. Whether it’s live music or recorded, it’s often so loud that it’s hard to have a conversation at your own table. I’d love to see even just a few hours a weekend where the music is dialed back a bit—it’s not a nightclub, and sometimes you just want to enjoy a drink and chat with your group.
Still, it’s a gem in Frederick and definitely worth a visit!

Not a bad place to eat. The food takes a long time, but they let you know that in advance.

We just came here for a drink but I wish we were staying for dinner! It is such a cool place with a great vibe and really nice people. This was our first time at any kind of self-pour taphouse, and the staff was very helpful in explaining how it works. We're gluten free (so not beer drinkers), and I wasn't sure how many options we would have. But there were so many fun drinks on tap we could try: cider, seltzer, wine, sangria, and cocktails. We *highly* recommend the Tipsy Peach; I could've drunk myself silly on that alone. We were really pleased to see so many gluten-free food options on the menu. We're looking forward to coming back and staying for dinner.

Bison cheeseburger bowl was tasty and a healthier option, but the portion size was somewhat smaller than expected. Staff was dry helpful!

We recently visited a fantastic restaurant that left a great first impression with its unique tap wall—a self-serve setup with an impressive variety of craft beers and ciders, perfect for trying new flavors at your own pace. It was our first time using a tap wall, and the novelty made the experience so fun and interactive! The outdoor seating was a major highlight, with a relaxed, pet-friendly vibe that welcomed furry friends. Situated right next to a scenic trail, it’s an ideal spot for a post-hike meal or a casual evening out. The food was solid, with fresh, flavorful options, and the staff were friendly and quick to help. Highly recommend for a laid-back, dog-friendly outing with a modern twist!

Three 12 oz pour beers and two glasses of wine cost $58 not including the lowest set tip of 18%. They really promoted gay rights if you like that and had an beautiful outside Riverwalk set up
