Location is good service is good but calling yourselves a Mexican restaurant is an insult to Mexico. I’ve never been more confused in a restaurant in my life. The queso and salsa were awful. Burrito was sub par and they are way too heavy with tomatoes/tomato sauce here. Redo your menu please. Marg was drinkable.

I’m never one to leave reviews but goodness I was blown away by how horrific the food was at this restaurant. The gazpacho looked and tasted like the salsa with water. And they added sour cream on top of cold soup. Omg.
I also ordered the huevos rancheros and they put some type of dark red salsa on top of the egg. I thought it was beans. It was soooooo bad. The nachos were flat like a pizza. And goodness were they horrible. If you’re looking for decent Mexican head to Cafe Bueno. They serve Mexican food. La Paz serves….really bad food. You can’t call that Mexican.
Our service was fine. She was kind and helpful.
I’m really blown away by how horrific of a dining experience this was. And often I can find something decent off any menu!!

Have been going to this restaurant since it opened. I am saddened he is selling...we love eating there. We wish Graham and his wife the very best after all these years. It will never be the same. Thanks!!!

Good Mexican at prices constituting good value. Charming and helpful wait staff, attractive dining patio.
Mexican is not fine dining, but La Paz does what they do well. I especially recommend the flautas.
Parking: Nothing overly proximal. Municipal garages within a 10-15 minute walk.
Kid-friendliness: Kids will like it here. Fun place.
Wheelchair accessibility: Decent. Few if any barriers

UPDATE: service this time was no nearly as bad, but the waitress messed up my order.
What happened to this place?? food used to be good, now the quality it's not even close to Taco Bell, from the dreadful presentation, not taste and little, little portions. I couldn't believe how bad this place was?
And... chunky pizza tomato sauce on a burrito??? Please don't be disrespectful to Mexican food.

DO NOT COME HERE!!! OMG this place is complete TRASH!!!! The food is disgusting ? the salsa is a complete joke, burritos have pizza sauce on them, rice is microwaved and the service is pretty bad too. SERIOUSLY TACO BELL IS BETTER!!

I did not actually eat the food here besides their chips, salsa, and a margarita. The carpet is dingey and stained. I understand that spills happen, but carpet isn’t a good choice for a dining room. The salsa seemed fresh but it was 99% tomatoes and didn’t taste of much else. They charge extra for every additional bowl of salsa or chips but I will say that the complimentary portions of each were generous. The house margarita was okay, definitely boozey, but for $10.36 with tax it better be. There are better Mexican restaurants within blocks of this place, unfortunately.
Been going here for YEARS! Had my 13th birthday party here. It’s now my daughter’s favorite restaurant! Through the years of seeing the same waiters and waitresses, I’ve become friends with them in real life :) It’s a great family environment with the yummiest chips and salsa!!
I really do not like when I see overly negative reviews but highly recommend to not dine here if you enjoy actual Mexican food. Honestly have had better at a school cafeteria. Unusual (shredded?) salsa, dry beans, sticky Spanish style rice, interesting...enchilada, and a taco with hard shell on only one side was my experience. I rolled the dice & lost. Disappointing considering the ideal location but should have walked the extra steps to Plaza or River.

Waiter was friendly and good, but unfortunately the food was tasteless and terrible...starting with the salsa, guacamole (both blended in a blender or something and tasteless?), and chips.

LaPaz offers great value for dining, which now a days is hard to come by. Their margs are the best we have found in Frederick. We like to enjoy some Sunday Funday on the patio when the weather allows. Kelly Fouche is an added superstar on the staff as she always remembers us.

One of, if not, the most disgusting Mexican food restaurants I've ever been to. From the garbage salsa, stale and oily chips, to the quesadilla that doesn't stay together. The salsa looked like they put a tomato through the spiralizer that makes zucchini noodles and then they threw that in with no seasoning and maybe a little bit of jalapeno- worst salsa I've ever had. None of the food was good and anyone who knows how to use a stove at home could cook something better. The server was nice enough, but it can't make up for the food.
