Always great food !!
While the hibachi offerings can be pricey, the food is good, and the serving sizes are generous. The staff is friendly.
Great place very family friendly and entertaining for the kids works was very nice and pleasant will definitely be back
food was mid, service was pretty good only thing i didn't like about the food was they didn't describe it that well and they could've cooked it a little bit more, the place was amazing and clean as well
All food tasted the same; sampled a lot of others’ food selection with whom I was dining.. a large group. Service and hospitality was great!!
The food doesn't make justice to the place.
Bobby was a great cook for us would love to have him again 10/10 recommend Bobby
Yes!!! Delicious!
It's sad management doesn't care about upsetting guests. You lost a regular customer tonight. Context: we waited an hour+ for a table, we finally got our two kids settled, waited 5 minutes for a server, then we were asked to move across the restaurant to a new table because they overbooked. Thanks.

Very typical dine in hibachi experience . Every table was filled on a Saturday evening at 7 and everyone seemed to have a great time and experience. Food was a an expensive as you expect for hibachi appetizer seafood with lobster shrimp and scallops with a few beers can out to 106 with tip.

I gave this place a try for the first time in a long time after a few subpar experiences pre-COVID, and I don’t think I’ll go again. I’ve gone to Matsutake a lot over the 15 years I’ve lived in this area, and it just isn’t what it used to be.
The food was bland and under-seasoned. Shrimp was over cooked and chewy, scallops were gritty, and the sushi, while good, was way too small of a portion for the price. There are many sushi places in Frederick with better prices, higher quality, and better portion sizes.
The service was solid, and the food wasn’t awful, but extremely sub par for what they charge and how good the restaurant used to be. I’ve heard they got new management a while back, and I don’t think the restaurant has been the same since. Can’t say I’d recommend this place, unless you’re dying for a lukewarm hibachi experience and overpriced sushi.
Matsutake is a relic of Frederick before it became such a great foodie destination. The restaurant hasn’t done anything to keep with the times or stay competitive with other, better restaurants that have opened over the years.

My husband took me to Matsutake Sushi & Steak for our Anniversary. I've never been to a restaurant like this before. They made us feel special and the bar tender made awesome drinks. Thank you so much.
