May's Seafood Restaurant

I've been going to May's Seafood for as long as I can remember. Whether you're getting steamed hardshells to go or eating at the restaurant, you'll have awesome food and be greeted like family. I have long-since moved from Frederick, but anytime I go back home I make a pit stop at May's for great food, drinks, and good times.

Ordered food for pickup and highly disappointed. We ordered two crab-cake sandwiches and a soft shell crab sandwich. The soft shell sandwich came on plain white toast, which was disappointing. The crab itself also was not the best. The crabcakes were also very dry. The worst part was that it was $80 for 3 sandwiches!! Will not return!

Great atmosphere — a very local place, not touristy at all. I recommend sitting in the open-air area of the restaurant because it has a beachy vibe. The staff is amazing, and the service is excellent. There’s background music, and I suggest going on Thursdays and Mondays when they offer special options at half price.

My experience at May's Seafood was noteworthy. We were able to get a seat within minutes. Our waitress was very attentive. As we poured over all of the options and prices, we needed a bit more time. Instead of forgetting us for 30 minutes like other restaurants, she came over very quickly to take our order. We got the soft shell crab sandwich, the shrimp platter, clam chowder, and hush puppies. Everything tasted amazing. I would come here again and recommend that others give May's Seafood Restaurant.

Delicious! Everyone loved their meals! We were looking for a seafood place, with some non seafood options. Choose this place on a whim, and loved the more mom/pop dinner feel. Definitely come here!

Fun, casual, family atmosphere. All you can eat seafood options to meet your taste preference and budget. We got the crab legs. Kids menu available with non seafood options. Great selection. We get ours without the old bay.

Bought the broiled seafood platter for my birthday. Got one for my girlfriend as well. It was not seasoned well. The crab, well I left it on my plate. The flounder was bland. The imperial crab on the shrimp, that was ok. The scallops were good. I also bought some fries shrimp to share at the table.-- they were so dark because the oil hasn't been changed in forever. They were slow. That could be the kitchen. Will never go back. I ended up getting sick that night and part of the next day. What a disappointment.
