If you are even remotely interested in the distilling process you should totally check out the Distilling 101 class offered. The entire day long experience is incredible. Learning from talented people who are doing exactly what they are meant to do is really special. Consider gifting this experience to someone as well!
So glad we saw the sign board outside of McClintock's tasting room and decided to stop in. They only had one server, Todd, and he was serving another table but he acknowledged us and then started effectively alternating between both groups. Todd was knowledgeable about each of the spirits, the distilling process for each, and the taste profile. He was so personable and each of the spirits were excellent, we ended up buying a couple bottles, so the tasting was free. Stop...
What do you get when you get four ladies and one random guy on a distillery tour with Todd? A darn fine Sunday afternoon. The entire team - Todd especially - was great. Their focus on sustainability almost outweighed the incredible liquors we were able to taste after our tour. It was hard to narrow it down to a couple; I would've happily purchased several more bottles. But I was visiting from out of town, and, you know, weight limits on luggage are real. Oh well -- guess...
