Food was awful! The chow mein had no noodles at all, my boyfriend said the chicken tasted off like it was old, and the tofu was dry and tough.

Food has really gone downhill under new management. I would stay away.

So we went back to dinner after they took their time to reopen glad the atmosphere has change not to dark as before. Also took us by surprise not to see that unfriendly ederly women we stopped going there because of that , her husband or partner was litle friendly than her. New owner should added to the sign under new ownership in case some people stopped going there because that unfriendly person before. Tea not to hot and too much water no flavour, soup was hot and good, the other meal was not to hot after two bites got very cold .but we will going back to give another chance and to see any changes. Glad atmosphere is bright .They do not serving slices of oranges with the cookies when they bring the bill.

Tried again. Tastes nothing like it did when the previous owners had it. Food is terrible. Will not be returning.

Maybe I'll give this place one more shot but for lunch I got kung pao beef. The portion size was good, but the beef tasted really fishy. And the fried rice tasted like cleaning spray. Bummed because that means the only edible thing left is egg drop soup.

A hidden gem in Frederick in my opinion.Peking Gourmet service has always been great and the food has always been what I wanted. The first time I tried it I had the Orange Beef and was impressed by how tender it was. This was for delivery.Because of how much I liked it I went on a day I was off and dined in by myself to see how the place felt. It has the classic “American Chinese restaurant” feel to it which I expected the white China plates with blue details etc etc.Fantastic service, good sized portions, and great flavors. This place has become one of my favorite places for delivery during my work week. I had paid over the phone with my CC and told them I would tip cash, someone else signed for me and didn’t tell me they had arrived and let them leave without me giving a tip. The business called and asked if I had wanted to do a tip on my card and I had zero issue with them calling me. I appreciate their service and that didn’t bother me considering I wasn’t able to give him a cash tip.Recommendations -Szechuan wontons,Steamed dumplings,Orange beef,Kung Pao Chicken (less onions),Egg rolls,Moo Shi Pork.-update-The ownership has changed hands. We may actually see them re-open for dine in. The food was still excellent. If I recall from a conversation, one of the original owners is staying on as a chef. So the food you can still expect to be a banger. 10/10.

I have been a fan of Peking Gourmet for over 20 years. It, along with Modern Asia have been my go to Chinese restaurants. In fact I often go to both when I am picking up Chinese food because Modern Asia doesn't make Mu Shu and Peking Gourmet (PG) does. I also like PG's egg rolls and Mongolan Beef better. We mostly like all the rest of our dishes better from Modern Asia. Last night I ordered from both, as usual. When I got to PG, I saw that the dining area was reopened and it looked great. But Irene wasn't there. I asked if the restaurant was still owned by Irene and the nice woman there told me they had new management, new owners. I wondered if the food would be as good. Unfortunately, I am sorry to report that the food was very disappointing. The egg rolls were obviously fried in oil that was too low of a temperature, or the egg rills were frozen and lowered the oil temperature, because the egg rolls were soggy with oil and undercooked, blah. The Mu Shu was disappointing because none of the traditional ingredients such as egg, black cloud mushrooms, ginger, and green onions were used. The sauce was totally not correct for Mu Shu either. The dish tasted like something bland with a hint of pork and onions. The hoisin sauce provided was watered down to the point of being runny. The Mongolian beef looked good, but the seasoning was totally off. Well, I should say nonexistent. Like an American dish of sliced beef and onion in a bland gravy. I have plenty of Chinese condiments in my pantry so I doctored it up to something that tasted okay. All in all, I will not have to go to two restaurants to make my Chinese pick-ups. Peking Gourmet, sadly, is off my list.
