This restaurant feels like it's still living in 2003 and the décor and menu really reflect that fact. The cost was ludicrous for the quality of the dishes and the ambience was stuffy and dark. At over $300 for our party, I was not happy with the quality of the food. Lukewarm, under-seasoned, and just generally uninspired for such a great foodie destination like Frederick. You could get a much better meal for half the cost at dozens of other restaurants in town. Overall, this restaurant feels like the image of what an older person thinks a fancy restaurant should be, and I think they really need to overhaul the restaurant (food, ambience, everything) before I'd even consider giving it another chance.

Will never be coming back or recommend this place! My wife and I made a reservation for 7pm. We got there 10 min before and stood by the front area for 15 minutes. Servers were walking by and no one said a word, but an older white couple walked in and someone ran from the back for them before they even walked up to the desk. Hostess didn’t ask for their names before grabbing menus but looked at me behind them and asked for name/reservation. She sat them and checked on server for them before even walking us back. I was trying to be nice and told her not to worry, but that was a terrible experience. Not to mention the restaurant smells like a barn, which we were ok overlooking at first.
I love the Red Horse Restaurant. it's no accident that it has been here for decades. The food is constantly great. The staff are friendly and great at what they do. Do yourself a favor and visit this Frederick md Gem.
This was my first visit, Celeste was our sever and she was wonderful, friendly and her recommendation were spot on. Food was delicious. We will definitely go again.

This restaurant is not up to ADA standards and has no accessible dining tables for people with wheelchairs or walkers. Don't bring anyone who has trouble with steps!! They building has been around for over 60 years and they can't even just get a ramp?? Crazy.

This steakhouse tucked away to the side. I went on a date here and the customer service was excellent I cant remember the gentleman's name but he sure did take care of us. I am not sure if he knew I was on a date or could tell I was nervous but the waiter sure made me feel comfortable. I ordered the crab cake meal it was good. Coldslaw wasn't. But the atmospher and the others who were in their dinning and enjoying themselves. I will return and try another dish. The menu looks great. Thank you RHR!
