I just realized I've never written a review for this place, and over half of my tea cabinet is tea from here! Delicious loose leaf tea, I go here at least a few times a year and buy my favorites as well as try something new. I just recently bought a couple of their fall flavors. I have way too much tea and they are making my problem worse hahahah love this place, highly recommend. If you're looking for parking there is a lot just past this on the right that usually has space, or you can go behind the coin shop and their is parking back there as well.
The tea selection here is nothing short of incredible. I love that Frederick has two loose leaf tea shops. I go here when I want more classic blends or teas that aren't as common. They sell chicory root which can be used to make a tea and I love that. They also have a wide range of tea accessories and beautiful traditional tea sets from all over the world. I love that they have tea companions as well. A friend of mine bought one in China and when he drinks alone, he always pours the first (small) cup of tea over the tea companion. They also sell brewed tea and you can request most of the teas they have in stock! I was able to get an iced tea with a bit of honey and it was perfect.
Found this gem on a trip and stopped in every day I was in town. When you walk through the door you are greeted with a warm smile and a soft hello. There is a tea to sample sitting on the table in front of the door. There were tons of tea accessories to include spoons made of honey, steepers, tea pots, and tea buddies. There was a vast assortment of tea that included a little something for everyone. If you are looking for a cozy tea house, this should be your place.
For anyone’s who is looking for loose leaf teas and accessories…this place is the one stop shop. Always something new to smell or taste every time we stop in. Vast variety of flavors and types…earl, black, and oolong to name a few. Highly recommend. Stone parking lot around back is the best spot to park.
If you like tea. If you like choosing from a wide variety of teas. This is your place.
The staff is friendly, eager to show you, and recommends just the variety you are looking for. You can bring your own container to carry home your tea and save $. Enjoy!
Love the variety. I go to re-stock my decaffeinated black teas.
This was my go to place for tea when I lived in Maryland. Their selection is amazing, very reasonably priced… and their tea accessories are the best. I bought a cast iron tea kettle from them years ago that I still use everyday. The people here are all so nice. They ship my favorite tea to me here in Texas and even take the take to do drawings on my tea labels for me. Thanks for everything you guys do!
Great choice of teas. I wish they had more space upstairs.
fantastic little shop with unique blends :) I always look forward to tell something new here
Love Tea Emporium! I only drink Teas & Water and they have the Largest selection you can possibly find AFAIK in the Frederick area. They have straight herbals like Chamomile (my favorite, very fluffy fresh flowers! So much better than the stuff you find in grocery stores), Hibiscus, Lemongrass, Gotu kola. As well as an absolutely HUGE selection of blends for a variety of needs, flavors, and preferences. Have not gotten to try any of them but i do plan on trying one of their sleep teas (as you can tell by the herbals I mentioned, i love sedating teas). I was actually going through a pretty rough withdrawal from benzodiazepines after my doctor stopped practicing and asked the staff what tea blends or herbs she recommended with sedation / anticonvulsant / calming / relaxing properties to help the hellish feelings I was experiencing and she happily helped me out and get what I needed without any judgement, or sideways looks and got me just what i needed besides the ones I had already previously researched for the withdrawals. Such a nice spirit and gave me hope to keep fighting! I know i probably looked like a WRECK going in there, sweaty and anxiety on 100 but the staffs calm no rush laid back presence really helped calm down my panicky feelings and heart racing I unfortunately feel when I am in public. Justsomething i have to live with but I always am thankful for Tea Emporium for the help getting me off the benzos and will be a life customer as long as I'm in the area!

Fantastic shop with exquisite tea collection and accessories for brewing. You can smell all of their teas in their test section of the store. The price was very reasonable. The person who helped us at the store was patient with us and was friendly. I would definitely go back again to try out different teas!
Many varieties, pleasant service local honey often and sampling is often available.
I’ve now been here twice and it is worth the 40 minute drive! So far I’ve tried the French vanilla chai, the cherry roast green tea, the pear green tea, and a surprisingly amazing old bay tea (thank you to the worker who suggested putting honey in it!) all the tea have been amazing. The customer service has been fantastic, and the atmosphere is top notch! I cannot wait to go back and try more teas and products
Have been here several times without issue, however the last time had a TERRIBLE experience with a rude employee! I am a very respectful person, especially of those in the service industry, and my husband as well. An employee made several extremely rude comments to my husband after we spent a good half hour there picking out severa loose leaf teas for a gathering we were hosting. I confronted him about his unkind comments, which he simply laughed off. Only one other employee there that day behind the register who ignored our whole interaction. I would give it zero stars if I could. Their tea is good, but I'd rather take my business to another place where staff are not rude or indifferent.
I absolutely cannot say enough good things about The Tea Emporium! After the first time I went, I was hooked. The tea is EXCELLENT and the service is INCREDIBLE. It is always such a wonderful experience and where I buy the majority of my tea. Highly, highly, highly recommend.
